Kroenke honestly doesn't care a jot about fan opinion etc, he won't feel any of the backlash whatsoever and is basically permanently based in the USA, Kroenke is a bloke who bought and moved a NFL team and you can imagine the hate he got from that from the city that lost there franchise in the NFL.

That really wasn't that big a deal, they had only been in St Louis for a small part of that franchises history. You could say he was returning them back to where they belonged, seeing they spent most of their time as the LA Rams.

Look at the San Diego Chargers owners to see an example of people that just don't care or respect fans.

thats my thoughts entirely. why would he leave a mioney making team in Arsenal , and come to us right now. he needs real assurances about our waterfront stadium, as this is where eventually all the pfrofit will lie.

if our waterfront stadium is a non-starter and we are left with redeveloping goodison or a retail park stadium then we are no longer worth properly investing in as the return will be much much lower in the long run.

Basically, yes.

He'd want to create an arsenal of the north, not be left stuck with a west ham of the north if that makes sense.

Dunno about that mate, they'd spent twenty (I think) years in st Louis and about 45-50 in LA prior to the move to st Louis so hardly a small period of the history. They also weren't originally from either but rather formed in Cleveland.

As for him returning them back where they belonged, he along with the woman owner (frauntier?) where responsible for the original move to st Louis in the first place.

In both instances of moves btw he had promised they where going nowhere in the year or two prior. The bloke cares 0% for fan opinion or negative publicity.

It really is a shame that the Rams AND Chargers are going to LA. LA doesn't even want a team. It's such a joke. It's like when owners of various sports keep trying to make Atlanta into something, when it's just a transient city whose populace's heart and soul isn't there.

Down to them trying to exploit media markets originally I believe, plus the huge benefits they get from effectively blackmailing cities to find the stadia builds.

Biggest Shame of them all was the colts overnight moving of an entire franchise under cover of darkness to Indianapolis by the Irsay family from Baltimore though IMO

What they have at Arsenal is essentially a todger measuring contest.

No way is Kroenke going to sell up, Arsenal to him is a commodity - nothing more, nothing less and the last person he would sell up to is Usmanov as that would essentially be a billionaire backing down to another billionaire. The only ways I can see a large portion of shares moving is Kroenke buying out Usmanovs shares to own the club outright (as a rather pointless ego tripping venture - also affords him to pass the entire club down when he dies) or to the far east as a vanity measure, or as an investment to some other douchebag.

Usmanov will never own Arsenal or have a say in Arsenal. He knows this and I believe and hope feelers have been put out by sponsoring us.

It's a bit like Dec buying Newcastle Utd and not asking Ant if he wants in. Something is defo brewing.

I have absolutely no idea how business works, with shares etc.

But Moshiri always invests with Usmanov, USM now sponsor FF, and on the other hand sources including @The Esk say no way.
There does seem to be something in the water. The premium Usmanov paid for the shares, the USM sponsorship, their close business and personal relationship. It's really not too far fetched to suggest a preparing of the way.

@The Esk knows his financial stuff inside out and that has to be a factor when considering this as well. Have a word with him @Groucho, get him back on here again, he's been gone too long.

Is the Chargers franchise moving to Vegas?

Being in Pittsburgh now and growing up equidistant between the two cities, the worst I can remember was the Browns moving to Baltimore. Art Modell literally couldn't go back to Ohio following that move, and he made his millions and spent his life trying to give back to the city of Cleveland. It was kind of like a Shakespearean tragedy seeing that happen. It was kind of the first move in the modern era that solidified the thought that sports was all about the money - the Browns were an NFL and Cleveland institution, and it didn't matter.

And there lies the problem.
Who would pay tens of millions for shares and have absolutely NO influence?
And why would Kronke spend tens of millions for shares he doesnt need?

Unless Kronke is more interested in getting a big return on his investment, and it seems Arsenal is a cash cow, than he is about having total control of the club?
