....if the newspapers are to be believed the 'big boys' are circulating amidst rumours of his contract situation. It is a reflection that his form has picked up but I wonder what is going on with that contract.

Purely speculative of course, however I'm sure there's a contract in the pipeline but perhaps Koeman has challenged Barkley to show his worth.

If he continues to perform as he has and develop further as an influential player in our XI then I'm confident a contract will follow shortly.

I don't think Ross would want to leave us. So its up to the Board to sort it. I think he'll stay.

I have criticised him before... but the one thing I would never criticise of him, is his blue blood... I have no doubt that he will sign if we give him a contract and I honestly don't think he will ever leave us by choice

I hope you're right, not sure why you think he wants to stay but I've no doubt it will come down to money. I see the trash press have labelled him a 'contract rebel' today, how they love to stir it up. I think we really need to pull everything out to keep him and Lukaku.

If we manage to convince Lukaku about 'project Everton' and that his future is with us, than surely we'll be able to sell Barkley that story too? Anyway saw the link from the paper and it had Daily in front of it's name. Now, if there's one thing I learned on this forum over the years regarding newspapers, is that as soon as there's a 'daily' involved it's not to be taken with only a pinch of salt but a whole bag of it

Sunday Suppliment suggesting he might leave to get regular football, saying Koeman doesn't fancy him. It shows how little they pay attention to us because he's playing and playing well!

...I'm not sure what the situation is with Barkley's contract. It's clear the club have put a mega deal on the table for Lukaku but the only comment I heard from Koeman was that the club were not in a rush to negotiate with Barkley. Read what you want into that I suppose.

Guess Koeman wanted more from Barkley before offering a new long term and big money contract. As Barkley seems to have gotten that message, Im not too worried hes going anywhere soon.
