Much like his second season.
All this lads done is get injured. It's great that he's putting that behind him and finding his best form again.

There's too much talk of players being "rubbish" etc when they have proven before the very eyes of their detractors that they are an extremely valuable player. I don't get it. It's like some disposable society sickness where anything not new has to get trashed.

I think we live in an immediate gratification society. New is good. Immediate is good. Signing players is good.

People get bored of players quickly and want them upgraded regularly. Gary Neville made a good point on Wenger, he gets top 4 every season and is criticised, yet Klopp might do it once and is lauded. Consistency over time is condemned when it should be congratulated.

McCathy is the victim of this. Newer shinier toys have made us forget how effective McCarthy has been for us.

Absolutely mate. And I think at Everton it's also caught up in some belief that we have a new owner and therefore we can make big in yer face transfer statements to prove what a big club we are again now.

I can't fathom that. Our proudest boast should be that we have an Academy that is with the S'ton one the envy of the PL.

Somewhat disagree.

McCarthy is not to be relied upon; thats why he has been forgotten about. As he doesnt play enough.

I think the two are connected though. He has played a lot through injury and it has affected his performances. As he has got fresher you see a lad who is a very important player for us.

If this spring he can get himself right for next season I will take that. I still maintain he could be used for us how Fletcher was for United.

You rate Southampton's academy way too highly mate.

It is not what it once was.
