Goals on Sunday

Agreed about it being what it is, disagree about the other part. Not just his fault though, Kenwright got way way too giddy giving him a 5-year deal. Look at UTD with Moyes, they sacked him the day it was mathematically impossible for them to get CL, I assume that was because of some sort of clause? We had an amateur giving a contract to an amateur and then Moshiri had to come in a foot the bill.

To be honest Ian you cant fault Bill, that first season made us believe, granted somebody somewhere should have considered clauses, but hey ho.

No worries mate, no offence taken

I mean it's hardly a master conspiracy or anything like

It's not like something like this is uncommon

Andy Gray failed his medical when we signed him for instance and Kendall knew it and went ahead with it anyway

It's just that seeing it argued as a positive for Martinez didn't sit right with me, that's all

Who said that Martinez signing Alcaraz, injured or not, was a positive?

If that's what you are arguing against, no wonder you are getting so upset and quoting imaginary sources.

I assume it was because he was rubbish at his job.

I did enjoy that day i must admit.

Actually looking at Martinez positives, that was a great day.

Can't argue with his goal record though, it seemed like he scored every time he played for us.

No, I recall fuming so much.

Everton are awaiting results from Lacina Traoré's medical before deciding whether to finalise a loan deal for the Monaco striker for the remainder of the season.

The 6ft 8in Ivory Coast international has emerged as a transfer target for Roberto Martínez following the £6.5m sale of Nikica Jelavic to Hull City, but is currently nursing a hamstring problem that stalled a proposed move to West Ham United.

Sam Allardyce conceded that West Ham were "unlikely" to complete the Traoré transfer after the player received a rival offer from Everton. But the Merseyside club, who can go fourth with victory at West Bromwich Albion on Monday, want confirmation on the extent of the 23-year-old's injury before making him their fourth loan signing of the season. Everton will apply for a work permit for Traoré on Tuesday should he be sidelined for only a few weeks.

Well he looks like he might have found Howard's successor if Koeman's perseverance now with Robles is anything to go by. So that could cancel out the Howard point.

But you could go on all night horse trading over details for and against. The point is it was a mixed bag of good and bad. Of course, that's not enough for some and only his head on a pike will suffice. There's no reasoning with such people. It's a shame, but there it is,

Lol. From the man who spent two seasons refusing to accept a single negative comment about Martinez. We were the entertainers, performance over points, 5th is same as 15th, Cleverley is the answer. And you label others as unreasonable.

It was 2-0 and him gone the next day. It was as comfortable 2-0 as you'll see as well. That first season was great. Was never going to be maintained by a manager who have proven he can't organise a defence.

How much of that do you think he meant though?

Look at his breakdown from a couple of pages ago, that's the real Dave, the other stuff was to be devil's advocate most of the time
