He was due the money. Its not that hard to understand and its not your money so why care about it?

Its the clubs fault for giving him the contract and its between him and the club.

Any manager would do it, any person would actually.
Honestly mate. I couldn't give one toss if he was due that money, someone else threw that at me the other day. There are a lot of laws the world over that are ridiculous and people don't like them. Managers being as abject as he was then being paid up for the remainder his contract is a sham. Not just him, all in general.

I've probably already said too much to be honest, but let's just say what I've heard was convincing and leave it at that

Bit weak Mikey, sorry. No offence intended.

And in answer to the previous post....It's not about me having a problem with his signing or not, it's about you being out on your own...Seemingly.....In seeing it as more than just another crap signing amongst the many crap signings in premier league history.

Oh the dodgy stuff again!

He was a free agent brought in as a fourth choice CB. Not every signing is just for the first team. Stekelenberg was probably brought in under similar circumstances but another goalie didnt materialize so he was thrust into the first team.

Stekky was in a fit state when he signed

Again, I'm happy with what I know, if others want to think otherwise then fine, I've said my piece

I truly don't get all these silly shouts about what a nice guy Martinez was/is. Unless you know him personally you've got no idea what he's really like. Ditto for Koeman or any manager in the game. Somebody can appear to be a knob as a manager but none of us will ever really know how much of a idiot he is away from the game. Yes there's a few exceptions to the rule but 99 times out of a 100 most of us are clueless.

Agreed. But it is what it is. Its hardly his fault and certainly not something to use as a stick to beat him with.

True, but if you used that line of thought all the time this place would be closed down tomorrow.

No worries mate, no offence taken

I mean it's hardly a master conspiracy or anything like

It's not like something like this is uncommon

Andy Gray failed his medical when we signed him for instance and Kendall knew it and went ahead with it anyway

It's just that seeing it argued as a positive for Martinez didn't sit right with me, that's all

Agreed about it being what it is, disagree about the other part. Not just his fault though, Kenwright got way way too giddy giving him a 5-year deal. Look at UTD with Moyes, they sacked him the day it was mathematically impossible for them to get CL, I assume that was because of some sort of clause? We had an amateur giving a contract to an amateur and then Moshiri had to come in a foot the bill.
