Ok, so I'm a huge airliner nut. Love looking at pictures of airliners, watching Youtube videos of take offs and landings. Fascinated with air traffic control. When I was younger, I'd go down to the airport and take pictures of various planes.

Now, I'll sit there with Flightradar24 up on my computer and then tune into the airport tower of choice and sit there and listen to the planes landing and taking off while watching online.

I had a business trip last year where I could have had a straight flight from Houston to Seattle but I found out that if I took the Houston to Denver to Seattle flight, I could fly on the new 787 so I paid the extra $150 out of my own pocket just to do it.

Anyone else got this sickness or is it just me?

I like siting out the back with FlightRadar app. Liverpool has very heavy air traffic so I like to see where the planes are heading.

Rookie. You can't listen to liveatc.net in your backyard. You need flight aware open, or at least a sectional, and some buttons to push when you join in with your own airplane sounds.

We've got a unit right next to the runway at Manchester airport.
Great in the summer. Can just sit on the grass behind the fence watching them take off. Splits your ear drums and rattles your teeth but strangely relaxing
