What's this cup obsession with some people? As if we had a good chance to win it.

We had a great chance to win it last season we just needed to sack Martinez before the semi final and put Unsworth in charge with big Joe backing him up.

Manager got us there so the manager should see it through.

Also, we did miss a penalty.

Simple DM has flopped everwheres he's been since leaving us answered the post you have obviously not been following picked up some wages along the way too, and compensation from being sacked at UNT!

I can use stats to prove at this point last season we had 3 less points and we where still in both cup comps

I think the comments he made were out of frustration, but he wouldn't have said them if he didn't mean them. Piecing together what we've heard, it seems to me Koeman tells Walsh the style of player he wants, Walsh finds someone he thinks fits that mould and if Koeman agrees it is then left to the board to get him.

Koeman and Walsh have made their list and the board aren't getting them in in a timely fashion. If signings aren't made this January I can see Koeman having a major falling out with the board.

And if you're arguing that he's said it to deflect attention away from him, plenty of managers play this trick. Nothing to see here.

Overall we've been pretty average in the league, hence why we're not challenging further up, but realistically we were never going to be this season. Ok we're out of the cups early, but you get the same amount of silverware whatever stage you get knocked out.

Disagree with those saying the season is over. We have just under half a seasons worth of points to play for. You can't bemoan players and manager lacking in effort/quality if we have nothing to play for and we all know you will.

Still a lot of work to do, interesting January ahead

Clearly Koeman has noted the meeting the other day and how it didn't seem to tally with reality, thus basically calling it out as BS.

That's my take on it anyway.

To use those stats, we were also 11th in the table last season - as opposed to 7th.

And at that point Martinez was in no danger of being sacked, what was to come (the stats I talked of) was what lost him his job, 21 points from 20 games. Koeman has 30 from 20.

Correct. He hasn't.

But that has very little to do with what I was saying.

Martinez was sacked for 21 from 20.

Koeman is doing significantly better than that. Almost .5 points per game.

Explain how that's an improvement worth mentioning

If you cast your mind back to just how poor we were second half of last season, with a trajectory that was taking us towards the Championship, then 7th at this stage with only a few additions is not that bad. I'm not trying to gloss things over, but I can't see any reason why Koeman should not be given at least as much time as Martinez. I can live with the indifferent start, he will keep us up (something Martinez looked less capable of) and with money who knows?
