There has to be a reason why we can't 1) identify a player that we want and 2) check availability and price in a reasonable amount of time. With Schneiderlin it should be bloody obvious, it wouldn't surprise me if the lad himself joined another team as he just needs to get on with his career asap.

Yes value for money is important but for God sake get a move on.
