...created our only goal and put in a few more good deliveries?

Granted I only listened to the match but sounded like he was trying.

Unless you're making quite a good joke about it not being televised in which case well done

Just a joke but I will leave it to the committee to decide whether or not it was good

First thing he did was put From through...but he was offside

Glad he got an assist.

Disappeared after the goal by all accounts, though he wasn't the only one, clearly.

Put in a peach of a chance instantly for Lukaku without taking his man on. Lays one on a plate for Lukaku by just beating his man for pace. So what does he do next? 90000 stepovers and checking back every opportunity to cross meaning everyone had to re run time and time again. He doesn't even need to beat his man because they are scared of his pace. His best balls are when he's simply given half a yard and he whips them in.

Crapped out of about 6 50/50's as well but that's his game I guess.

Certainly better than whatever was supposed to be happening 1st half because Coleman was more like a right winger and was crap

Geri was the only player worth watching today. Provided an easy tap in for the statuesque Lukaku, put in several dangerous deliveries and actually made Everton's attack exciting.

But of course, because he doesn't cover Coleman enough, he'll get absolutely slated. Maybe he should just do a Barkley and be very safe and ineffective, then the plaudits will fly in.

1) Every player on the pitch should put 100% effort in and deserve to be slated if they don't.

2) Are you really saying Barkley gets no stick?

Did well for the goal and had another couple of nice moments despite over complicating things but his lack of application is ridiculous. I don't expect Roy Keane off the ball but he shuffled round for the rest of the time like he didn't want to be there. Very suspect for their second goal if I remember rightly.

The basic and simple requirement is to cover particularly a midfielder, it's probably why he was tried up front in pre season, reduces his liability to the team. Unless he improves this aspect of his game he will have little game time. He is the definition of a Martinez player.

I'm saying Lukaku gets away with contributing very little in general play and showing next to no movement, and Barkley is a bang average player but both of them get a lot less stick than they deserve. In contrast, Geri gets a right slating even though he actually has a positive effect on our attacking play. I heard some fella outside the ground after the game saying 'the sooner he fks off to AC Milan, the better' - seemingly unaware that he provided the goal.

I've said countless times that this whole team is toxic - it lacks commitment, leadership and has a real lazy streak. But some players such as Geri get it in the neck more than others for completely unfair and unjustified reasons in my eyes.

Once again Lukaku has scored, albeit a tap in, and we've lost the game. You can't really point him out as deserving stick, he is literally the only positive thing about our attacking play most of the time. If you say Deulofeu has a positive impact on our attacking play so doesn't deserve stick for being lazy you can't say Lukaku does.

I do agree with your second point though, they're a gang of melts.

People keep saying "oh but he doesn't defend" when he does something good as if to take the piss out of people who want him to try a bit.

What is it with people these days, especially Evertonians, who think you shouldn't have to work at all if you're half decent? Defending is half the game, and the reason we're crap is because we don't do it.
