No quotes in that report mate.

He'd walk on broken glass to play here.

Then I'm with you with the Sig.
Would love him here, Can spot a pass and can shoot. Was sure he said no to us in the summer tho.
Top player and if he is a target I would deffo go all out. (big fan me)

Country has national service still for every male mate, maybe it explains the 'conspicuous military presence'

Ever had or seen any trouble with the police, military, witnessed violence to minority groups etc on your travels here mate?

Won't argue the media has a very pro government spin on it on most subjects, but i would argue that it is any more extreme a spin than is seen with the US/UK media which is by and large owned by one individual now and who all sing from the same hymne sheet.

But asuming you know a little about the country you visit relatively often for work, then i assume you understand the mess the country was in post Soviet collapse and the absolutely massive improvement it has undergone since those days - and also why western involvement in the aftermath of those days put Russias guard right back up upon recovering
The mess following the collapse of the soviet union is precisely what the oligarch class in Russia built their fortunes on. That some of them now redistribute tiny fractions of the wealth they accumulated in that period does not, in my opinion, mitigate the damage done to the average Russian in that period. Hence my reservations regarding the Usmanov links. You are unconcerned about them and so are the majority of GOT posters, I'm sure we'll all manage to get along anyway. Owners come and go, my loyalty to my club goes beyond the current custodian and questioning the motives and ethics of the higher ups is an important part of a free society and keeps those individuals, in part at least, on the straight and narrow.

This is threatening to stray into Russia/politics/daftness.

If possible, please keep the discussion to USM/Everton gubbins please.
Mr Moshiri and Mr Usmanov's standing is hugely relevant to the future successes and failures of this club. Surely we can discuss these things in the context of the custodianship of the club?

TBH mate I think that goes for all here

But delving into Russian history isnt exactly needed is it?

1. Moshiri isnt Russian.

2. USM are sponsoring a building. They/he are not custodians of the club.
Then this whole thread should be locked or renamed USM sponsorship or something. I would estimate three quarters of the posts are insinuating or outright stating that Usmanov will become part owner. Moshiri's wealth is also accumulated, almost in it's entirety, from investments in Russian businesses, so to suggest that he is not embroiled in Russian politics is not true.
