A million pounds is an extraordinary amount of money , and yet we have some on here saying the amount doesn't matter and that we should pay whatever Utd want for the player.
The money matters hugely and every million spent means a million less to spend on somebody else.
There are only a handfull of examples of clubs who spent money recklessly and even then in most cases if was for two or three windows before value for money became the watchword. We saw that last year with moneybags Chelsea in the chase for John Stones.
