Ademola Lookman

Lookman appears to be a wide-forward more than a winger.

He isn't a player who is going to stay wide and get crosses in but he has pace and trickery and a bit of guile about him - which is ideal for a flanking position to Lukaku in how Koeman appears to want us to set up.

One for the future, definitely, but I reckon we'll see some flashes of him this season as well.

Every team want to uncover a player like 'Thierry Henry'.
Best wide forward I have seen.

We have been after a player like this.
Mirallas, Deulofeu, Henin have not been the roaring success we hoped for.

Rather us sign Lookman's over Andros Townsends of the game tbh.

Hopefully Lookman comes in and makes some sort of first team impact before the end of the season which would be boss to see.

Charlton wanted us to loan him back but that is being reported as unlikely, meaning he's expected to feature this season (or Unsy really wants him for the U23s).

That's why bolasie seems a strange signing. If RK wants to play this 433. Though bolasie had played as a striker for palace his goal record is shocking.

In the 433 the 2 players flanking rom have to score goals. Double figures a season. And bolasie has never got anywhere near that

That is what i mean. I don't expect the lad to come in and rip the league up like a world class signing. What i hopefully want from him is at some point off the bench and do something great, win us a game or at least play a part in that. Earn himself a start in the team etc.

It would be nice to see, can imagine some people might forget his age and where he is coming from when he doesn't immediately look top class on his debut.

Kev has suffered from a few things I think.

When he was played as a right winger in his first two seasons here (2012/13 and 2013/14) I actually think he was excellent as a winger. He was given freedom to cut inside or go wide.

However, once he was shifted left - even though he had a good start to 2014/15 - I think he suffered as he became too predictable (injuries didn't help either). He couldn't go down the line and whip a cross in with his weaker fut, and too often he becomes predictable cutting inside and his path is blocked.

At Olympiacos he played wide left in a compact 4-3-3, which is much different to playing wide left in a 4-2-3-1.

It's no coincidence that his best performances for us over the past two seasons have been when he's been much closer to Rom. Centrally is where he should be played now IMO. He's actually better in that No.10 role than any other players we have, but too often goes missing on the left.

Del is an out and out winger and yes, Henen doesn't seem to be ready for the step up yet (though he is still only 20 I believe).

Honestly thought he was brought in to win us a derby. He always hammers that lot.
So season, potentially career altering injury it is, right before we play the horrors :/

Yes his first couple of seasons he was probably our best player. He had a wow factor about him and the game seemed too easy for him. That has disappeared now and its hard to pinpoint why. I don't think its where he is playing I think its because he seems to have lost that yard of pace and feeling unloved. Can't see him getting that wow factor back anytime soon, unfortunately.

I think injuries haven't helped, and been in and out of the side haven't either. But yes, his form is the underlying issue.

It depends what we want to use him as though.

If he's been deployed as a winger, play him on the right.

If we want him to be a real threat in and around the area, he needs to be either up alongside Rom or played left in a 4-4-2/4-2-4.

We'll make an upgrade in that area soon enough though I think. This will probably be his last season with us.

To be honest mate, think it is more the case of being dropped by martinez far too much that stagnated him. Best thing he could have ever done was to leave in the summer but suprisingly he stayed. At some point it would have been far too frustrating to only get games here and there when all he wanted to do was play every week which is why now in the team again he is starting to show flashes of his old self.

Personally i would have sold him after his fustrating lashings out last season but seems that was a martinez factor as well as they seem to have gone away by magic now the spaniard isn't here
