Gerard Deulofeu

Boro fan in peace, just wondering whether you all think we have a decent chance of signing Deulofeu? If so, what kind of price do you think you'll get? And do you think he could do well in a team that is currently severely lacking creativity? Thanks in advance.

I think you've probably got a better chance to loaning him to be honest, because I personally don't think we want to sell him

I don't watch a lot of Boro, so I don't know whether he'd suit your or not

He likes running at a defence and he puts in good crosses

He's a skillful footballer, but he can be selfish and wasteful on occasion

Most of your support will probably love him, but he'll also probably frustrate on occasion as well

He's got talent, but he's rough around the edges

Sound good?

Sounds good to me.

From what I've seen of him he is a work in progress like Adama Traore who we currently have but 3-4 years further along in his development than Traore. If that is the case as a few people have said then he'll be a good fit.

I believe that him and Karanka know each other very well from when Karanka coached the Spanish youth teams so he'd probably have Deulofeus ear a bit more than Koeman does. I'm hoping the his relationship with Karanka could shift the balance towards us over other teams that are interested.

I'd prefer him to stay in England, so I'd be fine with him getting a loan spell with yourselves

How's Adam Forshaw doing for you this season? Always good to see a prospect from our youth ranks plying his trade in the big leagues for a proper side like Boro

I'd like to see you get him on loan for 6 months, as I feel he still has a lot of potential - however we have been saying that for years. You already have Traore who is very similar in style so I cant really understand the links to Deulofeu.
I'm not sure how similar in style they are, Traore is all pace and no end product. From what I've seen of Deulofeu he's got very good end product most of the time but doesn't track back and goes missing in games. I think if we were to take him on loan we'd probably want a guaranteed option to buy at the end.

Forshaw has been a bit of a revelation this season, he was never able to break into the team in the championship as what we had was working so well but he was given his big chance this season due to injuries and he's never looked back. Still has areas of his game that he needs to work on but apparently Southgate has been watching him a few times, along with Ben Gibson. He's a good honest lad and he'll go far in the game if he continues developing.

Good to hear!

I always root for young lads when they move on from here, I feel it reflects well on our youth system if they can do a job elsewhere

"Without work and sacrifice there is no reward."

Hardly snide??
It's not snide at all. Everton fans desperate to pull him down. If the lad wants to show off his squats, I'm all for it. :hayee:
If he works on his body strength so he can hold on to the ball better, I'm all for it. Blerts going on about Mane falling out with Koeman,... he came back stronger and twice the player hence the big money move to Castle greyskull. Mane shat on our midfield in the derby- and he's not exactly a beefcake.

The option to buy is a problem as barce have first refusal with an agreed fee
