Jesus! It's harsh on here. I don't think he's been that bad. He has good work rate. Closes people down and at least trys to drive forward. Although I agree he's not the calibra of player we should be playing

You'll get used to the harshness mate, we can be brutal in our evaluation of our own players at times.

As to Valencia, as you say, he's got a decent work rare and is willing enough... but and this is the important bit, he strikes fear into... nobody.

Do WHAM have a recall button for him seeing as they've written to the top 6 clubs asking for loanees. Can't they at least take back one they already own?

people have been way too harsh on him, he works his balls off every game he plays for us, (which by the way is out of position, he is a striker playing on the wing) and i'm glad he scored because his work rate deserves it.

Is he the best player to ever play for us, no. Of course not, but you need people like him in the situations we are in, working hard and creating chances from it.

Jury is out on if we keep him here permanently, but aslong as he keeps trying good on him.

Really challenged and occupied their centre halves and won plenty of second balls. Linked up well too with the players around him.

Changed the match.

I was not in favour of this lad at all when he signed. After the Arsenal game I remember saying that the key for him was to maintain that level of performance, most notably the work rate. He seems to have a good understanding with Rom and works very hard, which can't be underestimated (particularly in our team).

I think you can see the value of getting centre forwards on the pitch, of any kind even if they start out of position. They have a knack of whats needed for a centre forward and think accordingly. Anyway really pleased for him and while 14 million seems a bit steep he has every chance of playing himself into contention if he continues with the same aptitude. He is never going to be the best player in the world but he's a good foil for Rom and contributes well from the bench.
