Gerard Deulofeu

The ever reliable Gerard Romero has said he wants to leave because he wants to play at a higher level.
Gerard Romero doesn't BS. He knows Deulo in person too.

Doesn't suprirse me one bit. Get this [Poor language removed] out the club asap. Attitude stinks.
Makes me sick the way people want to keep him

He's in the same situation as Barkley IMO... only ross has been given games... he's been dropped by managers ... but like I said is still getting the chance to turn it round... I wouldn't sell Gerry... not yet... he showed last season what he is capable of given 7-10 games. He showed it in his first season before she done his hamstring, he has also (unlike ross) worked on his weeknesses and looks to be putting in the work and trying his upmost to improve... he looks hungry (and knackered) and looks like he knows he's at a good club for him and wants to succeed.
In them games he done nothing apart from the odd assist to Lukaku mate. A game of football is 90 minutes not 20seconds.

Having said that - the standard of football has been pretty low this year.

The guy can't even get into our team mate. I could understand if he wanted to play minutes but play at a higher level haha. Come on.
He's not good enough for us nevermind someone better.
The guy is clueless and is stuck with 'I was in La Masia and was tipped to be the next Messi' in his head.

He doesn't fit with Koeman - so that is that I suppose. He might make it somewhere else. I'm not that bothered - there are many many more effective players we could have in his place, let's hope we can buy them.

If he does get sold and not loaned, how much are we looking at. We paid around £6.5 but it was only that low because Barca had buyback clauses. I think we should be looking at £10mill.

He was creating goals... that's his job... if he's doing that then he should be given time to improve the rest of his game as he is still having a positive effect... lukaku is [Poor language removed] at most things... apart from scoring... as long as he does that he should be given time to improve other areas... same should apply to Gerry IMO... you can't tell me that DCL, cleverley or mirrallas deserve the chance to play ahead of him ? Mirallas has had plenty of minutes this season and has been crap for 99% of it

I would keep him he is a great player. On his day he shows what he is capable of. The right manager would coax this out of him.
He is capable of terrifying defenders and is still very young. Would be foolish to sell him in fairness who could we realistically attract
at the moment to replace him with.
He needs game time and the right support around him to get the best out of him

Very likely with Coleman overlapping, by far our most effective right sided attacking outlet. Not being able to cover him when he is on his escapades and not generally offering much more than the right back is always going to leave you playing the supporting role or on the fringe as with Deulofeu.

Coleman has had a handful of good games in over 2 seasons.

Disagree with the first part. We cant have all our attacking players doing nothing without the ball as they are doing 'their job' going forward - the defence would be absolutely hammered. You cant just create 4-5 chances a game and do nothing else.

The second bit I fully agree with, he's still giving Ross, Rom and Mirallas games when they are very similar to Geri in terms of workrate.

He gets chances and has the nurturing of dipping in and out of the first team, the player cannot even manage this Just does not take chances when they come his way and does not work harder enough off the ball, a basic requirement of Premiership footballer these days, hence Lennon and Valencia get in front of him.

What a strange viewpoint.

'Dipping in and out of the side' is NOT giving him chances. He's played and been the best player on the pitch and dropped.

Looking at the squad yesterday

Mirallas - undeserved start but was good
Valencia - useless as always
Lennon - definition of defensive winger
Calvert-lewin - youth prospect

I'm not being funny but how do they emerge ahead of Deulofeu. He has a 1 in 2 strike rate for spain u21s and when played consistently is brilliant every time he has had a run in the team.

Makes no sense and koeman is a nincompoop. If Deulofeu played consistently he would be a top player as shown many times.
You can't compare Spain u21s with the Premier League Zat. It's like comparing the PL with the SPL, there's no comparison.

As others have said many times he's not done enough when given the chance and this is the third manager in a row who doesn't rate him, but you seem to be using his omission from the starting XI as another stick to beat Koeman with. Deulofeu hasn't 'showed many times' that he's a top player, that's simply not true.

Personally I'm not too bothered if he goes or stays as there is a chance he will come good and it's not as if we're desperate for £8m or whatever we'd get from him. But it seems he wants first team football and he hasn't shown enough here to deserve that. There's no point keeping him here on the bench if it's going to make him unhappy.
