He gets abuse because he's capable of more and when it's not going his way he doesn't put the effort it.. Naismith put the effort in and didn't get abused... people just accepted that was his best... same for Valencia... poor player but puts a shift in... Barry is to slow but people accept he puts the effort in and getting old happens to everyone... jags is the same... lukaku gets abuse even tho he's the best goal scorer we have had since lineker... reason? My opinion on Ross Barkley is that he has become the victim of his own potential. When very young he was identified as the next big thing, there has been a few. He had been picked out as having the potential to be world class by many and by most Evertonians. It seems we now can't forgive him for not fulfilling our expectations.
I believe he has the ability to become an extremely good player, my fear is he might not be able to do that at Everton due to the weight of expectation on him. He might even need to move away from England.
I assessment is that he is not as good as we believed him to be and we won't forgive him for it.
