Think we will get Dzagoev as well, don't see Walsh specifically going and watching CSKA with there General director unless he's serious

Yes I think so too. In all honesty you can't have enough good players, and rather than become fixated on a figure to spend or a number to bring in, I think we will be more flexible than that. If we can get Depay & Schneiderlin done in the first week it will be a real signal of intent and gives us time to move forwards through the whole window.

How do you think he could handle playing wide in the prem?. And would he score goals from an advanced position? As obviously we are pretty light when it comes to goals from the flanks

Think he'd do fine wide mate, has the workrate and the engine for this league and koemans style. He will score goals mate as well he's a natural finisher with a good free kick as well.

Think I asked this before mate but it got lost in the hubbub - where do you think he'd actually fit best here in terms of position, given the differences between the leagues?

Given the difference between the leagues, I'd say in the position that Barks occupied in the 4-3-3 we played the other day.

Basically a free role going forward, but to get back and help out as well.

If we did manage to get Schneiderlin and Dzagoev in, and we stuck with this 4-3-3/4-1-4-1 we've played recently, we could be looking at six excellent midfield options.

The issue would be keeping them all happy.

I personally think Dzagoev may end up - if he does sign - as a summer arrival.

We will know about Dzagoev imo, first few days of January mate, Russian leagues broke up till March now with their last game being the spurs one last week, so the lads got a nice 4 week break to have his holidays, decide and move etc with no reason for a delay from the selling club.

Either as the bloke deep picking it up and starting/dictating the play in a 3 man midfield (Barry role but with an engine and pace), or left side cutting in assuming some form of 4-3-3.

If scheiderlin signs like I think he will, then think dzagoev may be brought in a bit like tadic was used at saints mate. His versatility has the bonus of being able to change things in game a lot as well.

Schneiderlin, Depay, Dzagoev, Pickford, Lookman. Know nothing of the young lad but that'd be one hell of a window and we know we're looking seriously at all of them. Only thing is, you'd have to assume that Lookman would come straight in as back up to Rom, and there's no CB listed there. Add a Van Dijk and it's beyond all reasonable expectations for January.

Helped win me a few quid in me yankee* as russia's top scorer at the euros before last....9/1 IIRC. That's the dealbreaker imo.

*Benzema went south for around a bag o' sand, the bone idle arab

We signed Niasse on deadline day like...

Though that was extreme (panicking) circumstances
