Our Next 5 Games: Make or Break for Koeman?

Firstly, I don't see us in the bottom 3 or anywhere near there, secondly we're not a firing club and finally it's quite clear he's got a project with a delivery date of 3 years. I said two years might see him out if he's not progressed but that's the only circumstances I can see him leaving before 2019.
He should be awarded time as any manager needs time, as simply it takes time to make the changes needed. The problem I have is the style of football he is adopting, as for me it is taking us backwards. Any manager will tell you it is a result driven business, and you live and die by them rules. Usually though supporters are more forgiving if they can see a plan and a style of football that can move them forward, usually they will be more patient. In RK case we are seeing no real plan to how we set up and play and what we are witnessing is pretty drAb at best.
I am more than willing to give him all the time he wants but let's see some sort of plan or commitment to how we play....if we don't see it and we continue to lose, he may start to feel the feelings of the fans

I'd have thought top half was essential this season. Anything less is pretty poor. Any hint of relegation threat is unacceptable tho.

Next season Europe is a must.
Depends on the context I think, if we finished bottom half and he'd brought some youngsters through and we could see signs of future progression then okay. If he continues with senior pro's and wasting money signing bog standard average players, playing poor football and finishes bottom half then clearly not acceptable.

Between now and the FA Cup 3rd round in the first weekend of the new year, we have the following fixtures:

13/12 Arsenal (H)
19/12 Liverpool (H)
26/12 Leicester (A)
30/12 Hull (A)
02/01 Southampton (H)

It appears, to my eyes anyway, that this is not just a crucial point of our season as we look to arrest this horrible slump we are in, but also crucial for Koeman to prove that he can turn things around. Failing to register any victories from these games would undoubtedly leave us in a relegation scrap. However, an upturn in fortunes could give us a spark for a late charge for maybe 7th place and EL football.

For Koeman this is a crucial period for his long term future at the club. As far as I'm concerned, as long as we didn't end up in a relegation scrap this year, then he would be given the first half of next season to prove we are on the up. A bad christmas and he will be under immense pressure. Is Moshiri going to back a manager in January who has saw the side actually regress from last season. I wouldn't be so sure myself.

So this is going to go one of 2 ways over the next month or so. We are either going to see an upturn in our form, consolidate a solid position in the top half of the table, and put ourselves in a position where we might actually be able to convince good players that there's something good about to happen at Everton.

Or otherwise, we are going to see a continuation of our slump, landing us in a dogfight at the bottom of the table, with a manager on the brink of being dismissed.

Which way is it gonna go?

Could be gone by end of business Boxing Day.

I'd gladly take 4 draws from the next 4 games...which is above trend given the last 10 games.

People are already talking of sacking Koeman?!

We have been crap of late, but the guy has been manager for just a handful of games and we're still in the top 10.

On the last 10 games we're 19th mate...7Pts from a possible 30

and we 'seem' to be treading water in 10th place

Viewed from my spec on the beach as it where, I can see us in the water...look you say, It's OK he's waving, Oh goody, we're in 10th place.

Not waving, Drowning!

I think January is going to be very important for us mate. We need players in. If we repeat the fiasco of the summer and don't get the 3 (now with Bolasie injured 4?) players Koeman needs we need to be alarmed. This set of players have shown what they are capable of when they downed tools last season, we were just fortunate it came in March not October.

Lets put it this way, if we win 1 game in the next 10 we will be right in a dogfight. I'm sure you remember 1993/94 when we dropped from around 8/9th around this time of the season to very nearly going down. I'm not saying it will happen, and I hope we will get the 4 lads Koeman needs in January, but we really can't repeat the mistakes of the summer.

Everyone needs to relax, write this season off, he is giving the players that are here a chance and they are not interested.
We will be fine in the long run, Koeman is a top top manager.

Don't you really hate it when somebody posts something brief, to the point, with reasonable assumptions that could well be fact.
