What's your minimum expectation for the January window ?

RM or a Right wing forward?
RB or a right fullback?
What kind of CM, box to box, deep lying playmaker?
False number 9 ST or a leading the line kind?

My genuine answer is a Centre back to partner Williams, someone with a bit of creativity behind Lukaku, a box to box midfielder rather than constantly playing 2 DM's, another Striker who is more mobile and does the donkey work for Lukaku possibly. I can cope with Stek until the end of the season if we had to but if we could replace him in Jan as well then great.

Is the correct answer.

I would have accepted a number 8 with magic in their boots.

I thought we'd see an end to 2 DM's once Martinez went but sadly Koeman has persisted when I don't think it's needed for the majority of games, it depresses me to see it as the home side even more.

Hence the move for Witsel is ours and Sissoko, I mean phew, bullet dodged big time with Sissoko, but the type of player he is would have been ideal.

Enjoying the links to the Russian fella and Sniderman, both very different players from my brief understanding on their merits, but both are what we need.

If Rom AND Ross get injured, he would play.
Otherwise we cant really sell him till we replace him.
The squad on a whole is way to big, I said this even before Martinez did, but we lack players in the positions Naismith covers.

Said that just before Naismith was sold and we never did replace him, just like Cahill before him, we need somebody who plays in the hole and makes a nuisance, somebody who links play up.

I would expect 3 or 4 good signings that could bring some stability and consistency plus one 'A' rated signing who could excite us. When summer comes we need to be able to show we are on the way up to tempt those special players. End of summer window 2018 I will be disappointed if we don't have a strong probability of a CL place to come and an outside chance of doing a Leicester.
Until January it's a question of gritting teeth and accepting that we and RK know exactly what we have now and making the best of it.
