I'd rather have Martinez back

there is a few issues .

1. the manager and the director of football were bought in too late.
2. the squad wasn't changed enough in the summer. we needed wholesale changes. kone lennon McCarthy Gibson mcgeady cleverley niasse all needed shipping out for better.
3. the team blend and competition for places isnt right. whos forcing lukaku barkley stekelenberg the 2 wingers and 2 cm to work for there place ? the only real competition for places is at cb and even then we need 1 more there.
4. we have a striker who can score goals but lacks abilities in holding up the ball and work rate.
5. the attitude of some players is questionable. they either think they are better than they are or stroppy. McCarthy deulofeu mirallas and especially lukaku doesn't look like he wants to be here.
6. players still are not settled. Williams Valencia and mori.
7. the age of players
8. the ross barkley role . it doesn't work. id rather 2 up top and play barkley alongside gana in a cm 2. 44 frickin 2 !
9. davies dowell and Holgate need to be given more chances

big work needed to be done after the mess Martinez left and it wasn't done in the summer. I expect 2 or 3 changes in January and 4 or 5 in the summer.

At least Martinez was actually likeable as a person

God awful manager though.
Yeah, "God awful manager"....who won the FA Cup for an ale house team hammering us and beating mega bucks City along the way....and then coming here and running up 21 wins in 38 games in a record breaking PL season...and who's now been put in charge of one of the best national teams in world football.

Obviously not as good as that 'kin hoofball dinosaur Moyes and this new feller who looks like he's shaping up to be one of the worst Everton managerial appointments of all time.

Unreal.

entertaining adjective

funny and enjoyable:

Doesn't sound like last season or the previous one to me, not saying this ones any better like.

Just annoys me when people resort to the comfort blanket of the past when theres a big world of managers out there. Not suggesting we get rid of Koeman (yet!) but if we do would you really want Martinez back?? Ok his style of footy was a bit more easy on the eye, but fundamentally our weekends are ruined either way, I just want to see us win.

If my ex was fantastic at giving head, but cut up all my clothes, slept with all my mates, broke your mums nose and spat on little kids would I want her back? Actually probably would if she was that good at giving head...!

Seriously though, forwards not backwards.

Short memories here lads
Near the end of his tenure Martinez looked clueless the fans were fuming.
Maybe if we got Sammy Lee to help Martinez that would've changed things

6 pages and still going ?

*doffs cap in @Moomin's direction

I was angry yesterday, but Church this morning has calmed me down and thought me to reflect on things.

Last season we all thought and said a decent manager would get this squad of players top six. We get this so called decent manager and after the first few games people bragged saying " See, it was Martinez after all "

Now, everyone is blaming the players and Koeman is getting a free pass for some strange reason.

It's like the Maarten Steklenburg thread, people are blaming him for recent defeats. I've watched Match of the day again and you can clearly lip read him saying " That's it Midfield, offer no movement " and later " That's it defence, let them cross " and near the end of the game he quite clearly said " next week we will play the same formation and system lads, good job today "
