This is the Everton paradox though. We can play like crap and completely turn it around in the next. Even if we don't win the game, it usually ends up being a tale of two halfs. We need to make the right signings in January and take control of these weaker teams. Can't keep letting them into the game.

Pretty much exactly a year ago, virtually the same side played away at Norwich, and played a first half of scintillating football.

Almost from that moment we've regressed enormously and now look like team totally bereft of tactics, confidence, desire and quality.

Wholesale changes are required, probably including the manager.

That game was mad. Like Billy the Fish mad, when the team got replaced at half time for lookalikes.

even the most ardant martinez critics cant claim this is the same.

It has similar traits while not being as horrendous as last season.

We aren't proactive, we are completely reactive, even then not very well.
We are slow, lethargic.
There is no change in system, no plan B.. (Im not sure anyone can tell what plan A is to be honest).
No real creativity in the side.

For all of Martinez' faults, his stubbornness, his naiviety, at least you could see what he was trying to achieve, allbeit foolishly at times. I just can't see what he's trying to do at all. Our only creativity (apart from an occasional Barry moment like today) is the front three, so there is a disconnect between the midfield and strikers.

They are not arsed! Koeman has said that he will replace them so they have no motivation for him. It's bad management but unprofessionalism from seasoned pros.

We are top of the U23's and those kids would kill and fight for those places. Koeman should just bite the bullet and play them.
