Lol at some of the absolute nonsense on here. So the players won't give 100% because the manager who is only just over six mouths into a three-year contract (which he can extend at any point) isn't committed enough! :hayee:

I am intrigued by the conflicting ideas of how long we expect a manager should stay. In years past a it was assumed a manager would retain his job until he failed or was made a better offer. This model of management seems to be changing especially on the continent . Guardiola very successful at Barcelona still moved on to Bayern and is now at City , why ? I believe the arrival of the DoF role has changed things. Clubs have decided it is better to have an overarching system in place to establish consistency and continuity. This in time relegates the importance of the manager/coach to an easily replaceable part of a larger system.
In this system regularly changing coaches prevents stagnation(think Moyes), or expensive mistakes(think Martinez), since whoever is in charge the clubs playing system, player acquisitions, continues on a pre determined pathway.

...one point about the 'type' of forward we are linked with, the indication is he wants somebody to work alongside Lukaku. Unless that player comes deep to receive the ball we could have a void in midfield because Barry and Guey will look to get behind the ball and a gap will appear to the forwards.

We saw it on Sunday with Mirallas, his natural game is to get alongside or beyond Lukaku resulting in us playing long balls. Barkley on the other hand fills that void, he drops to receive passes. This is why I keep talking about the 'type' of player RK wants and not posting names that might not fit the team model.

Scheiderlin will fix that mate, at saints in his final year he basically played box to box with a more defensive player next to him, it produced by far his best season. Think how matic has been freed up a lot this season now he has kante alongside him and is having a huge influence going forward as a result.

This.

Schneiderlin in a flat three with Gueye and Barkley would be top, IMO.

...absolutely, I'm sure RK wants his midfielders to have more dimension to their game. I like Schneiderlin, always looking to take the ball on the spin and get momentum moving forward.

Don't see the issue myself.
I just find it a bit unnecessary.

Above, what the greatest manager that ever lived thought of Twitter.

We've won one match in ten and he's posting photos of his bloody Christmas tree and doing Throwback Thursday.

Maybe once he's looked remotely arsed about Everton and have us in consistent form I may be more lenient in my opinion.

The local media and many supports are talking about a disconnection between him and the fans, and I truly believe that to be the case.
