Because a new stadium of the type being discussed/designed will take a minimum of 5 years to design/build and you can't just sit in a rotting dump for that length of time. We've done enough of that for the last 22 years.

Ironically they didn't 'study' either of the sites mentioned, as was revealed at a) the Kirkby enquiry where planning permission was denied; and b) they never even got that far with Kings Dock because they couldn't put up the £30m needed to secure the land.

What they have done so far with Bramley Moore Dock in terms of the site visit by the entire board and also by the MEIS architectural research is the most they have EVER done in terms of planning for a new stadium.

Thought that myself mate, I ended up thinking that we must have kicked SC into touch. In Moshiri's interview with Jim White when he talks about a new stadium he mentions that they had visited all the sites being considered.
