Memphis to Roma?
Expect to hear plenty of rumours linking Memphis Depay with a move away from Manchester United over the next few weeks.

The Red Devils outcast was again left out of Jose Mourinho’s squad to to face West Ham at the weekend and his days in Greater Manchester appear to be numbered.

The latest club linked with a move for the Dutchman is Roma, according to Corriere dello Sport, who say that the Serie A side believe they can land the 22-year-old on a cut-price deal.

The fact that Depay shares an agent as Kevin Strootman and Thomas Vermaelen adds further fuel to that fire.

So that's that, then :(

The first target is missed.

Yarmalenko is on again ;)

Regarding Delboy, the only highlight was him telling a Southampton player to get up because he went down to easily. I was literally laughing my head off with my grandad, who then says the cheek of that one trick pony - who then threw himself to the floor just seconds later. (Delboy not my grandad, he is 70 odd) lol

He had a run of games when he looked good. But the reason you buy him on fifa to the reason why every manager has binned him are complete polar opposites.

If he was 28 would you be this enthusiastic about him

Not every manager has binned him like?

I'm not convinced, but if he came here I'd happily back Koeman's judgement.

The four signings that have featured regularly for us this season are the ones that have been most productive and the (outfield) ones are the players who look most adaptable.

Based on that I trust Koeman if he wants a player.

Edit: Hang on are we on about Depay or Del? :D

In all honesty toff, I just like arguing with Zat

Mate for a similar period of time Jelavic looked like the second coming of Lineker, short periods can be decieving, he had a purple patch of form at a time when the opposition had no clue what he was about, the form went and teams figured out how to nullify him, what you see now is what you get, a player who will never make it at the top level

I can't agree with this mate.

Think Del has all the talent in the world.

His aptitude is the issue. Plus his finishing is dire.

ha! Classic Everton Transfer Bantz (as the kids would say)!
Everton tipped to loan/buy Depay and we moan that he's useless, we don't want a player who can't get in the United team, a waste of money/wages.
Roma linked with Depay and the fume begins because we could miss out on this great player.

A risk. But maybe a risk with taking.

Bet he goes to Roma.

Oh hello.

Disagree mate, all the talent in the world - he can't finish, he constantly chooses the wrong option, apptitude doesn't make you stop dead whenever you have the option to do a quick ball or beat a man, apptitude doesn't give you courage either - which he lacks, it also doesn't give you stamina, or physical strength. He has great technique and touch/skill. But talent is the whole package and on that score he's lacking hugely. Otherwise any kid great at doing tricks with a footy on YouTube would be at top clubs.

We have four inconsistent wingers as it is, and though I am confident Bolasie will hit form, do we really need to lay money out on another? United are riddled with underperformers at the moment, and Depay isn't getting near the first team. Would avoid this one, and look in Europe for some hidden gems. This is what we pay Steve Walsh for!

Well no, Steve Walsh is paid to suggest targets to the manager and oversee the development of football throughout the club.

Depay was the biggest young talent in Europe 14 months ago...

Bolasie is off to ACON for a month, so we are down to three wingers (and I'm not convinced Kev can even be classed as that any more), come January.

Depay would represent a player who is suited to a 4-3-3 and plays predominantly from the left.

We need a playmaker more, but if Koeman wants him then I'd trust his judgement.
