As opposed to Barkley giving the ball away... Del running down blind alleys... Kev doing nothing.

Everton fans.

Unbelievable bunch.

Have a go at the one player who looks remotely likely to make things happen...
Dear @BlueToff,

I will happily have a go at almost all of our players at the moment, I was merely commenting on the previous posters suggestion that Bolasie was being denied service. That was an odd thing to say of a player who is normally a winger or an attacking midfielder. Additionally, whether it is fair or not, his price tag is going to draw scrutiny that players who cost a fraction of his fee are not going to get.

I agree on the service point, though at times we do take so long to get it out wide I can kind of see the op's point.

And fair enough then.

I don't judge him entirely on that. I know it was a lot of money.

He still relies on service to be able to get into a position to supply Rom

Like every player on a football pitch with the exception of the GK. We are not moving the ball well anywhere on the park but Bolasie was bought as a player to make things happen, he's getting plenty of the ball (few players in our team have more touches) so I think it is a bit strange to suggest that it is other players faults that he isn't doing the biz at the moment.

Mate, he has been our most creative player by a distance, his performance on the whole has been strong and the stats back that up. Only a small amount of players have created more in the league than him this season, so jog on.

You can read stats, I'll make my mind up on what I watch thank you very much. He's consistently out marked, out muscled and beaten to the ball. Gives it away on a regular basis. He's easy to read and offers us nothing but the odd cross in the box. Hes a one trick pony who isn't near fit enough yet (if he ever will be) he's blowing for tugs after a 40 yard run, he got knocked over after a sprint yesterday and sat on teh floor catching his breath rather than gettig up and making the effort to get the ball back. If he has enough in him to have a laugh after a defeat, he should have nough in him to play for the shirt. Hes absolute jarg mate.

Jog on? Me? Ironically, if Bolasie did a bit more than jog on, he'd be a much better player. He's one dimensional, always has been. The fact that hes our most creative player is a bit like being the top of bottom set in English mate, still rank average.

The article posted by The Esk was a very good analysis and supports the views expressed by nearly all in this thread and others, Could have been a different story if some of our summer targets had been signed but that is another matter. Esk calls for a clear out shakeup, for me this should have been initiated by RM last season if not before, problem is the rubbish players he signed and the rubbish given contract extensions. Rather than hang on to the likes of Niasse, Kone, Gibson for me just terminate the contracts and pay them off. Unfortunately we are stuck with McGeady, McCarthy, Lennon and Cleverly who are at bet championship players, a bit harsh but that is how I see them. Koeman may not be the quality manager we were hoping for but he has inherited some pooh players so perhaps culpabilitiy to some degree lies elsewhere.

We have lost points in the last few games which should never have been and but for that we could and should have been a couole of places higher. How do we rectify this well Koeman should give one or two young players a crack but do not hold your breath. For the next few games Koeman will use the same players just watch. It will e very hard but need patience I suppose to give RK time.

Yes but the further you get up the pitch, the less space you have. It's easy for a GK to give the ball to the CB as they have bags of time compared to a CM playing though a winger or a striker where there is very little space and pin point accuracy and timing is required. We haven't got anyone to frequently play the right balls to him.. Yesterday he received a lot of balls in the air, back to goal, with 2 two men around him because we move the ball forward far too slow, look at the space and time the teams above us, or even Southampton yesterday create for there wide men

But that's what we've bought him for surely? To find himself space, to beat men even when he hasn't got space, to score and assist. You don't pay the sort of money we forked out for someone to be slightly above average - you pay that money for a game changer, a match winner. He's the one that we're looking to to do that something special, and i'm sorry but lashing the odd 100mph cross in to the box just isn't enough.

I've said before, I feel a bit bad that I lay in to him on here as he's not doing that badly, but it's more the defence that some people put up for him, as if he can't be criticised because he's been better than some of the other (much less expensive) options that annoys me.

He's kick and rush, that's his game, hes not a close control player in the mould of Pienaar. Our game doesn't suit him, nor does the game Koeman wants to play. Bolasie will never suit a pressing game, he needs counter attacking football to give him space, without that, hes useless, as shown fairly recently on a regular basis

That's true.

Way I see it, even if he stays as he is now, and does not improve....he is still a very good player on the verge of the National side.

If he gets a bit worse, and his 'meh' performances become the norm....then he is Leon Osman.

People expect too much, because they and all of us are starved of any kind of success.

Bit ironic you saying that 'people expect too much' from him. You have been the one constantly comparing him to Scholes/Zidane, telling everyone he's world class!!

Matt Le Tissier believes Ronald Koeman's criticism of Southampton's academy 'came back to bite him on the backside' on Sunday.

When Koeman was Southampton manager last season he claimed the club's youngsters - in the same youth system that produced Adam Lallana, Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale among others - were not up to Premier League standard.

And former Saints star Le Tissier said: 'I thought it was a brilliant debut, I was really impressed with him.

'Had Ronald Koeman still been at the club he probably wouldn't have had that chance, because Ronald wasn't overly keen on getting the youngsters involved.

'But current manager Claude Puel obviously liked what he saw, and it's great for the other youngsters knowing this manager will give you a chance.

'About a year ago Ronald went for the academy a little bit which was a strange thing to do, I thought, especially given what the club has produced over the last few years.

'It was a strange thing to say and it came back to bite him on the backside I'm afraid.'

Le Tissier admitted there was an extra satisfaction seeing his old side sink their former manager 1-0 following his acrimonious departure.

'There's a way of leaving,' added the Sky Sports pundit. 'The fans were disappointed in the way Ronald behaved and some of the stuff he said in the lead-up to the game.

'So yes, there was a feeling of extra satisfaction at putting one over on him.'

Koeman gave quite a few Saints kids their debuts when he was there- realistically if you plays too many kids at once you won't get results and you'll be sacked. Hence, really why Chelsea have brought through about 2 kids since Abramovich came in.

Also, maybe if many of the youngsters at Soton didn't break through under him it was because their first team is full of proper, committed players that don't carry bottlers and overpaid charlatans like we do?

Obviously he should give guys like Davies, Holgate and Dowell a go now, but we shouldn't just assume he doesn't like them because he finished 7th and 6th at Southampton without playing kids every week.

With Bryan Oviedo and Kevin Mirallas playing some games?

I'm surprised we've scored a single goal.

Don't get the criticism of Oviedo....always done a job for us and not a bottler like our iconic left-back. Mirallas on the other hand has an ego bigger than Distans milk round whilst having less talent than Honey G
