Ronald Koeman discussion

Mate, why are you so desperate to defend him at all costs? Have a look at the threads of the players you're mentioning, they're all getting both barrels too. Bolasie is getting stick in this thread because he's a Koeman signing, unlike the others. The point is, Bolasie being slightly better than 1 or 2 others doesn't qualify as him being a success. He's not been our worst player by a long shot, but he is playing his part in our struggles, and we paid a huge amount of money (by our standards) for him. Of course people will knock him, just deal with it.

I'm not desperate to defend him pal.

I'm stating he gets a lot of stick that is unwarranted.

I don't know what people expected from him?

If anything, I expected him to be more inconsistent than he has been.

Has he been an unqualified success? No, not at all, and I'm not saying he has.

But he's been the best of our attackers so far. I just don't agree with slating a player that at least tries to make things happen and isn't content with just coasting through a game - as frustrating as the lad can be.

Mate, Bolasie runs at you, your the defender, what do you think he's going to do? He'll roll the ball under his foot, toey it and run after it. Any defender worth his salt will have him taped in the tunnel. He'll only get past you if he catches you on the turn due to a counter. We struggle with him doing anything if we're building from the back cause their defence gets organised. He only seems capable of capitalising on the mistakes of others, not forcing them. Also, I'm fed up of watching him waiting for the ball to come to him, its grade one football. It looks like he works hard cause he's always chasing the balls he kicks.

Mate, he has been our most creative player by a distance, his performance on the whole has been strong and the stats back that up. Only a small amount of players have created more in the league than him this season, so jog on.

If Bolasie could cross properly instead of thundering it across as hard as he can every time, he would have far more assists, his final ball(and he's not the only one) is absolutely dreadful for a premier league player, it really is.

It is at times, I agree.

Other times, when he's putting percentage crosses into the area, it's where you need players gambling.

I'm sorry mate, but please name me one winger playing in this league (or anywhere, really) that constantly picks out pin-point crosses?

There isn't one.

A winger's job - first and foremost - is to get a cross into the area.

When Bolasie fails to do that, or wildly overhits it etc, then yeh it's his bad.

But he often gets the ball into dangerous areas but the issue is that there's nobody there except a static Lukaku.

In the one instance where we did have a man running from deep yesterday to get onto one of his crosses, Barkley missed a header that he just had to direct on target.

Bolasie doesn't put it into the area, most of the time it sails over to the opposite corner flag. He does that far more than he puts in decent crosses.

haha thought you might have been, I'm with you on Ross but he needs to up his game now and take responsibility on the field.

If you look at all of our players this season...I think Ross has been one of the better one's. Some of the older and so called experienced players are THE problem. Complete cowards, and many of them career cowards, professionals in failure.

Quite, Ross is an easy target though, he hasn't hit the heights some expected(yet, if ever) and that has made some really turn on him. He gets a lot of stick for a young lad, quite unfairly at times but because he's just a quiet shy lad he gets a dogs life.

It is no surprise to me his form has dipped, he's scared to death of making mistakes, he's not allowed to he has to be perfect.

So true love to see Ross in a firing top team clearly he hasn't the character to lift teammates which is no problem he is not yet 23 & may never have it look at hazard he would shrink in this team however put him in the correct environment & he is the best player in the league

That's true.

Way I see it, even if he stays as he is now, and does not improve....he is still a very good player on the verge of the National side.

If he gets a bit worse, and his 'meh' performances become the norm....then he is Leon Osman.

People expect too much, because they and all of us are starved of any kind of success.
