Ronald Koeman discussion

I do mate and I know you do.I just think Koeman is not here for the good of the club.
Good point his antics today looked like I don't give a damn I am picking up good wages for playing player in the back four inclusive of a Southampton reject aging over 100 years old Baines Jags , and Williams -
our team look the slowest in the league ATM!
barry was appalling today and stayed on !!!!!!!!!!!!!

You lot looked very similar to us in our November-December slump last year, lump it up to a big man upfront and if it doesn't work, repeat it until it might work. Luckily for us today, VVD is probably the best CB in the league in the air. He's also very reluctant to drop out of form players out of loyalty/lack of options.

One thing you can expect in the coming weeks in a move to a 5 at the back, until you grind out the most turgid defensive football, and start scraping out draws. This is what he did for us to get us out of our slump last year, and it worked, but it's not pretty.

Koeman's also realising it's harder to organise a defence when you haven't got Fonte and VVD/Alderwiereld as your CB partnership, and Wanyama/Schnierderlin as your defensive midfielders. I like the look of Idrissa Gueye though.

All the best for the rest of the season (apart from our trip to Goodision.)

maybe we should have kept Roberto and got rid of the some of the dross in the team then?

I think his position had become untebable after the fans turned so that really wasnt an option. However, looking at it now, it was the players who were the problem not him.

Donr forget, he blew a 2 year budget on Lukaku so he was stuck with the rest and by the time Moshiri came with the money it was too late for him.

In your opinion, as is mine that I see us closer to top six than doomed. The beauty of a forum. Yes the form of the team is shoddy now, nigh shambolic yet we still sit where we are because the league is such that when we slip up, the teams above and around us do too. Next weekend United come to GP with BOTH teams facing the real prospect of being below Watford for gods sake by kickoff time
I respect your optimism mate, and I hope you are right. But this is the third game we have expected a response only to be met with a shambolic lack of effort and grit. Southampton were hardly fantastic, but we made some of them look like world class players.

I'm not calling for Koemans head, but when do we start asking serious questions of his commitment? He deserves a chance but not a free pass.

No because he signed most of them ffs

Exactly and the rest are finished via age (Jags/Barry) and injuries (Baines). The only manager I would want other than Koeman would be Emery if he was sacked by PSG and even he wouldn't get anything out of this lazy, clueless and spineless lot.

Soon as Norwich beat us a fair few of the players suddenly stopped trying/pressing etc. It's clear as day this is on the players heads and not the manager. Moshiri needs to now put up and shut up and start backing the manager and get the Shirkers out the door.

If Koeman is ruthless he should send some of this players to a reserve team and promote youngsters just to put a shame on senior players. To move forward we need a brilliant man manager and someone who's brave, hard and passionate (hate to say, but look at Klopp's dedication) - don't think Koeman fall into these categories.

Shame there are no more managers like Brian Clough who would put Martin O'Neil in the second team when he performed badly and explain it to him that he's playing there because he's too good to play in the third team. All you want to do after this to prove this fella wrong.

Cheers. Fortunately for you lot, the club is like a well oiled machine so no matter who leaves, be it manager or player, a replacement steps in and things carry on as normal. You have a great set up there.

It will take us a while to get rid of a few bad eggs

if the worst comes to the worst, we have a ready-made replacement manager in Unsworth who would know who our own Josh Sims are.
Dear me, is that what he said?

FFS, that is appalling. I suspect our academy is a similar mystery to him.
Lets not forget what Unsworth said after the Norwich game: "That will be the skill of the manager: can he blend top established players with a new generation of unbelievable talent? It doesn't matter how old you are, if you watch that performance, you know that Kieran, Tom, Jonjoe and Matty are here to stay and basically you build a team around that . . . I think it's a goldmine, not just one or two, we have got an abundance of top quality." Not looking to have much skill in this department is he?
