Ronald Koeman discussion

He was out of his mind rather than depth if he thought key players he hadn't bought and had no allegiance to him would dig themselves and him out of a hole. I cant begin to tell you how much contempt I have for the likes of Baines, Jagielka, Mirallas.
I was thinking about this earlier, I doubt that we have ever had a squad with such a lack of character.

It's a disgrace it's been allowed to get this way.

I shouldn't bite, but I will. Who is saying the above stat is good enough? Show me one poster has said that. Also, whilst I'm at it, show me the posters who were saying that this fella will be a Barcelona manager.

Just cringey little straw man arguments I would suggest.

But we shall see.
Plenty said Martinez would be the next Barcelona manager though lol lol lol lol

Oh I remember. That Martinez signs a new 5-year deal thread was and is joyous, until you realise it cost the club £10m when they realised the obvious.

The days of managers getting three seasons is from a previous generation, he'll get six months at most.

Even now, people have turned against Koeman.

Patience is not common in today's support, they want blood.
Barring collapse into the relegation zone or resignation I expect he'll get at least 2 seasons.
He's Moshiri's big call, is being paid £6m a year and cost a huge £5m in compo. He cost much more than any of his rivals would have.
Hopefully he'll turn things around with time and support because, if not, we're stuck with him for a long time.

Results like that happen and it's how we react I will be more interested in. A draw against Swansea at home wasn't the best reaction but it wasn't a defeat so not too disheartened.
Results like that shouldn't happen, we're Everton and we didn't react is what I'm interested in. A draw against Swansea at home is absurd, there was no reaction we're Everton and I am very disheartened.

There's another thing he said there that was glaring to me: he stated that people want to get away from the way of playing in the previous two seasons. What we actually want is to keep the attacking prowess of the team and have a sounder defence; we dont want to ditch the whole thing and bring in a way of football that leaves us sterile and lacking in creativity, which we are now.

Of course, all that goes to the heart of the issue for me so far with Koeman: the claim he's added a defence - he hasn't. The back four are still dire and all he's done is to play a lot deeper and more conservatively.

We played some of the nicest attacking football under Martinez. Only have to look at the 3-0 drubbing of Southampton last season
