I have no Besic agenda to push, hes been MOTM in 95% of the games hes played, once hes over his injury niggles he will showcase his talent.

Your faith in him isn't an issue - good on you. But at the moment it has to be considered blind faith IF Deulofeu is a miss by comparison.

Deulofeu last season had these stats (one of which makes no sense to me, I admit)

So he created over a chance a game and a key pass (whatever the hell that is). Surely that is far better evidence of, for £4million, him being a hit (if not a massive one, admittedly).

Lol.

Deulofeu, Mori, Lennon are misses? Ha ha ha. And Eto'o was a very decent loan deal. And as the #2 he was brought in as, Robles has been a hit too.

So that's 11 hits.

Misses - Kone, Alcarez, McGeady, Niasse, Cleverley. The others we never saw and were brought in as squad fillers...like every manager indulges in.

So that's 11 hits and 5 misses.

Add the success in coaching to international status of Stones and Barkley and the last manager has bequeathed a very respectable team core to Koeman...as he'll find out when he flogs them all in the next four transfer windows....if he's here that long.

Delofeu has (apart from a month long period last season) failed to live up to his early promise in his loan season. He's been as inconsistent as Mirallas has been and you'd struggle to pinpoint any considerable improvement over 3 years (Though he did start lifting his head up and looking to cross last season).

Mori has looked alright, but Williams looks twice the player and the fees were not too far off. He's got a mistake in him every match.

Lennon to this day I still don't understand why we signed him. He isn't better than either Mirallas or Deulofeu. He has no end product and is just a workhorse player. Apart from his purple patch last year he's usually anonymous or ineffective.

Eto'o could have been a decent loan if Martinez didn't cock it up and have to flog him in January.

I think they consider a "key pass" to be one that leads to a shot on goal.

I'd consider a signing a "hit" if I want them in the first team right now.

For Martinez that is:

Barry
Lukaku

For Koeman that is:

Williams
Gueye
Bolasie (For the moment, if his form drops then this will change)

Really, there is only 6 players right now who I think should keep their place in the team and the rest of them could be sold without me shedding a tear. They are the four above and Baines and Coleman. I look at everyone else like they are on borrowed time here and I think the squad feels that way as well because the status quo isn't acceptable. That can't be good for morale and motivation.

I did a hit and miss earlier on in the year, suppose I can revisit it.

lennon was a hit .

No. Martinez nor Koeman use/d him. He got his first start this season on Sat. If he's a hit you need to create a whole new word for Barry.
He has served a purpose and done well when called upon . Should of been used a lot more . I'm not comparing him to Barry . But Lennon hasn't let us down when called upon .

Not everyone has to be a world beater to be a success.

Lennon and Robles are decent squad players who have their uses. Not like they cost the earth either.
Still can't put Lennon and Barry in the same category.

That's not really my point. Deulofeu and Lennon are nowhere near good enough, Lennon never was and Deulofeu never will be. I'm prepared for any potential vaulting on Deulofeu.
