Ronald Koeman discussion

Well we're 7th and I'm yet to see a team who is currently below us who looks better or more consistent.

Of those ahead of us - Chelsea, United, City, the RS, Spurs and Arsenal - which of those clubs should we by rights be ahead of at this point in our development like?

Makes me laugh, how fickle some of our lot are. Talk about not giving the bloke a chance. There's issues he needs to sort, and he needs time to build his own team, but as it stands we're at the level we're realistically pitching at.

No doubt he'll get us 7th this season. Stated that from the off.

I'm just not sold on him long term.

Hope to be wrong.

Don't think he's the answer long-term either.

But I don't care about the long term. We need to improve now and so far we are better, as poorly as we have been recently, than we were under the last manager.

There's still huge issues with the squad and Koeman needs to address those.

But, the cry-arsery after 12 games of a new manager's tenure is not befitting of Evertonians - or maybe it is, we're such a negative bunch.

Don't dislike Koeman, but he's boring in he, everything about him bores me, his press conferences, the way he speaks, his tactics, the way we play.. all boring

if were winning games nobodys arsed, but when we play like the weekend and being honest most of the season ( even in some of the wins we were poor, just playing against worse ) it's hard to get pumped up, deffo needs a few windows to get his own players in like

Exactly.

There's five teams in this league that are currently a step above the rest (and even those rely on luck anyway - see Spurs the other day and the RS in any game ever). Then you've got Utd who should be doing better but are currently level with us.

As you said, we are where we are because realistically we're the 7th best side in this league.

Our poor form is a concern and one that needs addressing - by the players and the manager - and those in charge of transfer dealing need to make sure we make the most of what will be a tough window coming up to ensure that we hit our aim this season which is top 7, and at the bare minimum improve on last season's finish.

Well, they do.

And when has he moaned to the media?

He gets asked questions and answers them?

What, you think he spends all of his working days on the blower to the papers, and not at the training ground?
What you chatting. Talk about twisting words too suit. Look you're a happy clapper, me I'm a realist, all I see is a continuation of the Martinez slump with a couple of 'new manager' syndrome type results and its worrying.

We should be around 3rd place looking at the points dropped...

Now we have a tough run and we will regret these insipid.performances.

It shows how poor the prem is mate when we have had 1 win in 7 prem games and we are still 7th, and that there isn't a team below us who looks better than us because at the moment it shouldn't be too hard to look better than us.

Yep.

The 'stand-out' teams in our league are being shown up time and time again to be not all that.

A lot of that is to do with intensity mind, and so many new managers who are still adjusting to the league and their new sides.

Consistency is pretty much non-existent. It's why Chelsea's run is even more remarkable.

I hate the 'best of the rest' tag but atm that's where realistically we are aiming to be (league-wise). Get there and then build from there.

I'm a realist, all I've seen you do since summer is moan...

During a game that I happen not to be working on then I get very angry when Everton do Everton things.

When I am working on the game I have to take an objective viewpoint and it helps to look at the whole picture.

I respect you have a different opinion and that's fine.

Saturday we were crap overall - crap result and a crap first-half performance. Marginally better in the second half and we got the equaliser we deserved on the balance of play. We should be winning those games.

However, just because we didn't, I'm not panicking. I'm not writing Koeman off after 12 games and I'm willing to see how he shapes his team over a longer period than three months before I judge.

If that makes me a happy clapper because I point out the good things he's done, then so be it.

Every club can point to dropped points, 3rd? lol Would you have still been crying about him then like?

We do have a tough run coming up and it's time to see what we're made of - starting at St Marys.

All I want to see is those who cross the white line giving it everything they've got.

How many goals did howard let in that were easy saves? he cost us about 10 points!!!

Williams in defence and gueye in front and we would have had more points...

Come on ffs its obvious.
If they were honest professionals they would have made largely the same poor mistakes as the existing defence did. Less so the keeper but i don't think stek would have been an improvement tbh.

The defence under instruction was poor, not the defenders as such. Like the derby (as i always say), they were told to keep lines of defence, which liverpool literally danced around because they were told not to go with their man. Not the defenders there, it was the instructions given to them
