Ronald Koeman discussion

I understand that but it was game over with Chelsea in cruise control. Davies cameo was a very good one but more importantly Koeman must think he is not quite ready for a hectic game at fast pace. 25 mins will do the kid good and he should be brought on in games bit by bit and steadily rather than the world of expectation on his shoulders playing week in week out...Koeman obviously rates him but doesn't feel its the right time yet.

Thought today would have been a great game to start him, and I know there is no easy games in the prem, but against a team bottom of the league, low on confidence would have been ideal for him.

He's going to be here for three seasons as a minimum - I've confidence he can make the changes in personnel and attitude to achieve his objectives.

The problem is will he be able to sign better players than the current corp in January. The board must act and begin transfer talk asap than leaving it so late like last time.

Does his wife is living in Holland running the family business and him constantly flying home ( even though it's a short flight I grant you ) affect his lifestyle ?
I know his brother and the trainers live in town here, but has the boss settled ?

Genuine question @The Esk as you may have more an inkling into this.

Will be sacked after new year next season

Think we will struggle to finish top 10 this season and Moshiri will panic

I've no doubt we'll improve with every passing window, but he does need to coax that first big name through the door.

Biggest problem appears to be the squad's attitude, they only seem to turn up for about 15 minutes a game. If they had the same attitude as our lovable neighbours we'd be pushing top 4 I don't doubt it. Lot of the current lot need moving on and we need a new belief and atmosphere around the place.

Not heard that it's an issue mate, and I'm guessing he doesn't take scheduled flights when he does go home.

Yep.

Need the name. Rooney for eg would be huge

“I was not calm because we spoke a lot about about what happened at Chelsea,” he said.

“We spoke about how we need to start. We spoke about the opponent that they are in a difficult situation - from the start [we needed to] be aggressive, press, make it difficult so they are not comfortable on the pitch and it was not like that.

“I was angry because we know how we need to play but some players in the team it’s difficult to have that attitude maybe but okay the reaction in the second half we saw but not in the first half.”

“I expected a reaction from the start, not from the start of the second half. Of course in the second half we did good things – we played good football, won a lot of second balls with good pressing and we made it very difficult for them.

"That was a different attitude and what we expected from the start. But maybe a lack of confidence that we need. But I don’t understand why we needed to be one nil down to get that reaction.”

“When you play at home, we know if we play like the second half we will have the support of the fans,” he said.

“You can lose in football but it’s about how you lose the game. If you don’t press, if you don’t make it difficult, if you don’t run [and] go for it.”

“Maybe it’s better [to get angry before the game]. Of course I analyse myself - what I need to do so we make a good start at least at home. Maybe it was little lack of confidence after what happened against Chelsea and they had doubts. But if you have doubts on the pitch you are not yourself and you cannot be yourself for the team.”

The bold points are quite interesting. The more you hear him speak, he's saying the same things - pressing, aggression, attitude etc and the bit about some players having difficulty to have the attitude he wants suggests that he's thinking the same thing as the fans. Unfortunately he cannot do much about it until January/the summer.

Ron, you're forward line is incapable of carrying out your wishes. Bin the lot

is that wishful thinking mate. It will take more than three seasons to turn this team around. clearly the spending money isnt there or is it. im still unsure

at home to one of the poorest teams in prem and we scrape a draw. clearly the fitness levels still arent there as they dont cover ground . no support for one of the most lethal strikers in the prem. madness utter madness. no improvement on martinez so far
