Computer games.

been playing half an hour civilization 6. seems good, but I think I'm bored of / not in the mood for these slow paced games anymore. I was when I was younger.

I'm the opposite the older I get the more I like them. Same with Europa Universalis et al.

Anyone who buys a Civ game on release has a screw loose. You wait until the GOTY edition.

Pff it doesn't make that much of a difference, money-wise (good Steam deals from time to time). Also it's not an obligation to buy the map-packs et al. The most interesting things are the expansions, and they will have to be bought separately. You might as well wait until the complete edition then. Or you don't have to buy it if you're only going to play single-player. I just buy it because I appreciate the publishers.

But that's the thing - Civ 5 was a mess without Brave New World - why buy the base game and buy the expansions to make the thing playable when you can just wait a few months and get the whole experience?

It's about mindset - for me, I class the actual release date of a Civ game as when the whole game is out.

Oh I understand you now.

Have to say though: this release is already very playable, better than CIV V. They made it a bit more difficult, plus I'm kind of struggling with the bonuses at the moment. I enjoy it.

Is this Battlefield 1 as good as people say? Still playing a lot of FIFA atm.

Also a little off-topic but has anybody tried out the VR headset with the Samsung Galaxy S7? Gaming or otherwise, they're fifty quid atm on Amazon and I am quite tempted.

We have one. both decent and bad. They are obviously bottom end of the scale in terms of Vr but i was impressed by it. Games quite good as well, good scary games and even like a space shooter you have to turn 360 to play it fully.

the bad, bar the lower quality screen is that the S7 runs everything through Ocalus on the phone so trying a video on the internet was a bit more difficult than i thought it would be, had to sort of half connect the phone into it to get it to do VR, but i think it was a bit blurry when i done that.
