Firstly on the RS, I think we're all a little bit deluded about the quality of their team, they are clearly a lot better than we give them credit for. We can't just make out like belief alone wins them games. It helps, but they obviously have players who can do what is needed when the time comes, and we don't.

Take that Swansea game the other week. They went behind early on and were at 1-1 going in to the final 10 minutes. They dug in and won. They went to the Emirates and Stamford Bridge and put 6 past those 2 winning both games. An achievement that we haven't manged for 20 years at Arsenal and 22 at Stamford Bridge.

On your next point about Kenwright etc, I disagree as well. Kenwright doesn't have the money to push us on to where we need to be, but this idea that he doesn't want success for Everton or to compete with the best is unfair. Mediocrity doesn't "remain in place" under Moshiri either. He has come in, spent millions in bringing Koeman and Walsh to the club, and is seriously looking for us to move Stadium for the good of the club. Just because he hasn't revealed a Waterfront Stadium set to be built in 2017 does't mean he isn't trying to sort the stadium issue out behind the scenes.

Some people are seriously deluded if they thought Moshiri coming in was going to instantly have us in the top 4, with World Class players all desperate to join a side that finished 11th the past 2 seasons, hasn't competed in the Champions League a single time in the Premier League era and hasn't won a trophy for 21 years.

I can't agree about Kenwright. I wouldn't doubt his credentials as a fan but his tenure was marked by continuous failure. No need here to go into detail on that. Perhaps it's unfair, but I will rest easier when he and Elstone are no longer there. He is a relic of a bygone era. Even if it was purely a cosmetic change, there is a time in sport, business, and politics, when a changing of the guard signifies that the old way of doing things are past, and that things will be different in the future. The contrast with Moshiri is already stark, I'm more hopeful now than for 25 years and not particularly bothered by this run in the wider scheme of things. I do hope though that he brings more of his own appointments in, it's very difficult to change a culture if you keep the same people in place.

I'm surprised people thought we were gonna challenge for top 4 spots to be honest.

Martinez had a top 6/7 side and under performed. Ron will fix that and I'll be disappointed if we don't finish at least 7th.

But we're way off challenging especially based on the transfer window dealings and how we don't seem an attractive prospect for top talent.

Stones redeemed himself after that free kick. But oh what a merry go round my heart couldn't take much of that.
No he didn't :)
Won't be long before Pep realises he bought a dud. Overrated like Sterling.
Pep sacked before Christmas.

Everton are still my first love, always have been always will be and the doom merchants don't help.
We were unlucky to say the least.

We'll finish top 8. It's nine games in. We've lost to Burnley - it's crap but not the end of the world.

Everybody conveniently ignoring Burnley also beat the RS as well...

Stop kidding yourself. Their team are superior to ours.

I think a lot of people with this atttiude would have a far different one had we beaten Bournemouth & Burnley.

...As we should be doing - don't give me the usual guff about no easy games, I never said they'd be easy but I expected us not to lose either at the very least.

Our players are deserving of criticism, sure - but to put their lot on a pedestal?

'sake. You'll all be pissing yerselves when they get turned over by someone like hull or swansea...But they'll still be better than us, wont they?:blush:

Over time i'm sure he will, but for the time being, I feel happy that Kenwright is still around. An Evertonian who knows what the club means to the fans, and is concerned for the local community etc.

Or would people rather we brought a load of foreign people in at board level and everything we stand for as a club gets watered down until eventually we become a less successful Liverpool FC or Man City with our identity lost? They won't care about the fans, prices will rise, not go down, and EITC will likely be far less supportive.

I want this club to become successful again in the right way, with people who actually care about the club and fans still having influence. If we lost that, i'd rather we didn't bother. The fans getting fleeced by the club with very little in return.

And we've had a piss easy fixture list bar the smash and grab point at City when we were battered. It's why we weren't talked about when the top teams were being discussed.

Roberto had a team capable of about 6th/7th, the issue is many of those players are on the downward curve (Jags, Baines etc.), Barkley doesn't look like he ever will develop any game intelligence, Coleman isn't the player he was a few seasons ago, Barry is just about hanging on.

Our best defender Williams is almost 34. This is not a team that has a future. It needs completely ripped apart.

How is this North Korean style orthodoxy?

That would be banning people for disagreeing which has never been the case.

You can be realistic/negative (whichever you wish to describe your outlook as), I am remaing positive. I hope it's ok for me to remain positive. Is that ok?

Of course ut is. Just don't try to portray any criticism as necessarily negative. Opinions are what this forum should be all about.
