Works in progress. They were better than us after Benteke scored and like against Spurs we held and gained 1 point. We played against a difficult team. In January we obviously need to add players

Unfortunately eggs we are a pretty average side. 2 seasons of 11th place is probably going to take us 2 seasons to challenge back into the top 6-7

Such a lack of quality, piss poor window as in we needed major quality bringing in.

Ronald has his work cut out that's for sure.

.....absolutely, Matey. I think it will take time to bring in the types of players RK wants. I can see improvement on last season, better organisation and spirit under a manager who is clearly in charge. He wants more from every individual which basically means the system can't afford luxury players. No matter how much we like them, the likes of Deulofeu, Barkley and Mirallas may not be what RK wants. They have to adapt or slip down the pecking order.

It would take a leap of faith to convince me that we are top 6 but it could change if he can bring in one or two in January that have a big impact and better suits his needs. I'm sure we'll get there.

We are third in the league. At worst case by Sunday night we might be 6th.

We looked as resolute in defence and prone to a mistake as anyone else except City.

We went toe to toe on the physical side with them - 5 yellows to 4 yellows. There's not much to their game but physicality and breaking up the game's flow at every moment. ok we didn't win this time but we showed up and competed all over the park.

I do not think jags is a good captain. why did Everton not keep Stones and build a team round him? I do not even think though Everton were brave or clever enough to hold out for a good transfer fee.

Stones wanted to koff off and even had put in a transfer request last summer.

It's still a struggle to put together a full 90 minutes of good defending starting up front. The second half Palace had no trouble moving side to side and then forward down the flanks. Bournemouth similar but in the first half. Spurs did the same thing as well. We need to find a way to keep the shape and pressure for 90 minutes and some of these draws will be wins

I was in the pub before the game and the teams were shown on sky with the proposed formations, my first thought was this is an even game. Our current team/squad is a 7th to 10th place squad, we will improve on last season and may get into the Europa with a bit of luck but we desperately need better players in certain positions. The squad over the past 3 seasons was massively overrated by the fans.

Though I'm sure many won't want to admit it, we're not challenging for top 6 with that squad just yet, we're the same as Palace, filling out the remaining top half places. Our teams really aren't very different, the reality is we bought into the hyperbole Martinez bestowed on the players, and the 'best squad of prem era' nonsense.

We've got a long way to go, and as such Koeman needs the whole of this year to rectify the mess he inherited. He also didn't get the luxury Klopp had last year. As long as we finish top half and he clearly knows what needs to happen in the summer then I'm happy, slow progress is likely and a sense of perspective is needed here. You don't unlearn bad habits, pick up all the new good ones, and turn into world beaters overnight.

Palace fully deserved the point if not all 3, given that I saw nothing wrong with their second. Try and grab a point vs City, then try beat Burnley. Onwards.

Thought we were OK in the first half nothing particularly fantastic. Palace sat back but we struggled to open them up. Cracking free kick from lukaku.

Second half they had to come at us and they seemed to cause us a lot more problems than we did them. We defended well but against Palace, under the lights with half an hour to go, we shouldn't be hanging on like that. We were really struggling to get out of our half against palace.

Going forward, we had no belief that we could score. Constant diagonal passes at head height that were absolutely food and drink for Palace's tall centre backs. Whenever we tried to play it in front of lukaku the pass was always over/ under hit.

There were many things to dislike about Bobby. But we could really worry teams with our attacking play. Defensively crap, decent going forward. We shouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Some Evertonians want us to be a bit more direct at times. Nothing wrong with that. But that second half attacking performance was predictable, 90s, tactless. Get the ball out wide and cross it in quickly.

1 goal in four and a half hours against Norwich, Bournemouth and Palace is just very very poor.

And to be honest, we shouldn't have had the free kick which led to the goal
