Ross Barkley

Just pointing out the other side of the opinion whether you think its a valid one is up to you. But its clear hes not a good player in your eyes.

But every week there seems to be an over exaggerated view from some people. If he plays "okay" it usually equals hes awful and needs benching. When we dont win its usually his fault.
Actually you are wrong, I rate Ross's ability very highly, if you look earlier at the beginning of the season I was clearly stating he would have a stormer. I am now eating humble pie.

Because we don't have creativity. It actually proves the point if you think about it. Ross actually has fantastic ability, he just doesn't seem to be able to make use of it where it matters. In this position instinct more that thought is the way of the master.
Which is why he should be moved further back.

Maybe you can't get players like him to defend and if so I doubt he will be here next season.

He wasn't poor but he just wasn't good and I can't remember the last game I thought wow we have a player here.

Ok, but either way lukaku should have buried that.

Barkley skinned a player running into the box from the right, and instead of cutting it back or shooting he hit the ball straight into the defender who was one yard away from him and resulted in a corner which to me - none of which were threatening.

Like I said, he worked hard today tackling running etc hence praise for thag, but he's still proving to be pretty crap at what he's actually meant to be good at.
That lack of composure just shows he doesn't have the vision to see the right pass when it really matters.

Maybe but he would have to become far more defensively minded in his approach to the game. Another idea is that he becomes a forward alongside Lukaku. Right now I don't know and it hurts me to see he isn't becoming the player I thought he would. I still believe he is technically the most gifted player we have though, just can't utilize his ability where it matters most.

watch it back, every option was blocked, there was no open player to pass to, he tried to pass it to near post because Rom made a run there, which if anything shows vision.

sometimes wonder if anyone pays attention when they watch.

He is playing in most games as a forward with Rom.

He needs to be tried further back against poor teams and then we can judge.

He looks like he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders. He just needs to relax and play his football.
I say give him a break, work hard in training and focus on bringing the best out of him. Then slowly bring him back into the team if and only if his performances deserve it. Ross is technically gifted and the skills he possesses need to be coaxed out of him, he needs to be shown when something is the right choice and when something isn't the right choice, he doesn't have natural instinct. Slot him in just behind Lukaku and put another creative midfielder behind them, Gueye can do the job in front of defence. Yes Barry is great but he won't last forever and already his enthusiasm for the new season is wearing thin, old age hits us all.
