am i the only one that thinks Palace didn't offer that much apart from two good headers (clinical for the goal)?

We lost the plot in the second half and palace aren't a bad side, well organised and they'll cause some upsets during the year. Ross could do with a rest, take some pressure off him. Let Gerard and Mirallas play there for a few games

They lumped dangerous crosses in because we weren't stopping them at source. Overall we defended well though.

one thing we all know for a start,is that everton have to learn to play 90mins or as close to it as pos,not 45min games here/there/and everywere, and as soon as teams put presure on us,for me we look like we might conceed,we were so close again to conceeding from the only shot on target v us which again is happening this season, our keeper has had no chance with any goals v him, including 2 that shouldnt have counted

I can accept the poor quality of any Everton team if, as a minimum, they do the basic of at least matching the opposition's work rate. We haven't seen that consistently from an Everton team for 2 seasons and again at the start of this one. That is what makes them so frustrating.

He didn't play on the wing. He played in midfield. And he was one of our better performers. He's hated for been a steady performer.

He came in today and did what was required to help the team and there's a reason Koeman started him - because he's reliable to do just that in a difficult game.

If Tom Cleverley was one of our better players then I am packing in watching football. He was terrible. Most of them are not fit to wear the shirt tbf though.

We had a degree of strength and structure in the first half and I was hopeful but that went by the board in the second. Far too much p/poor passing...either under or over hit balls and then as the time ran out, hit and hope balls in Lukaku's general direction relying on other players to make runs and feed off him...and that didn't happen. The defence worried me tonight... the goalie didn't command his immediate area and we had defenders either 'after you Claude' ball watching or two players going for the same headers and not clearing to a blue shirt. Palace had this sewn up by the their solid defence staying tight and reacting with speed to our pedestrian advances...pity we couldn't replicate that.

i'm so disappointed because i thought the first half, specifically the early portion was stellar, the passing was crisp and everybody was fully engaged, then it deteriorated.
