Ross Barkley

I think if I was one of Barkleys advisors right now and the chance of a move to somewhere like Citteh or Chelski came up, I'd strongly advise him to take it. Playing alongside top quality players could give him the room to realise his potential. He wouldn't ,initially at least ,be the only creative option there. It would also release him from the pressure of playing for the team he supports which I don't think suits him. We are at least 2 seasons away from being the quality team he may need.

As actual if he would get anywhere near Manchester City's team, come on lads have a word with yourselves.

Koemans handled this badly. It's clear to even a fool that Ross is not the most confident of lads, so the last thing he needed was Koeman singling him out for stinging criticism after the Sland game. He could have said we are going to be switching players around a lot in he next few months til w find the right balance, but no he dumped it all on Ross.

Except he didn't "dump it all on Ross" did he? He was asked a question specifically about Barkley and he answered it by saying he was subbed because he wasn't playing well, which is the truth. Maybe we're so used to our manager coming out and giving sugar coated non-answers to make everything seem like it's sunshine, rainbows and pretty flowers, that we now think telling the truth is something to be snarled at. Ross needs to become a man, take criticism on the chin, and work hard to improve if he wants to prove people wrong.

Worked out well for Rodwell.

You are the Sky generation in a nut shell!

He did look sharp - both in pre-season and the first few games. Had a poor half vs Sunderland and bar a decent display vs Boro seems to have hit a rut in the last few weeks.

He hasn't 'looked like a div 2 player', and the workrate is there. He's never been strong in the tackle but until he's played deeper I think he will continue to not get involved in that regard - which is something he should improve and will have to under Koeman.

His " decent display" " and poor" display? Against Sunderland he looked like a white niasse ... and his decent display was only decent because of the horror show he put on a few days earlier... how can you honestly say his work rate is there? He does absolutley nothing defensively ... nothing... he only acts like he's pressing ... if I know that he won't actually tackle I bet you the opposition know it to... you can dress it up however you want ... but his " little rut". Has been nearly his whole career ... bar about a 6 month spell... it was fine when he's 18 or 20... but he has not improved at all... his goal stats may have... but his all round game has not improved.

Pretty much anybody with a clue about football disagrees with you like.

Let's just leave it there though.

If he doesn't improve his form he'll be out of the side. If he was as bad as you're making out, he wouldn't be in the squad in the first place.

You reckon ,lad?

Well maybe a bit of an over statement from me.

I just couldn't see through the suggestion of needing to move to play with better players bit, he is playing with good players now, hence my comment.

Added to that he wouldn't even get game time at City as they have far better than him.

To move to either would be incredibly insane at this point, he's possibly not even good enough to warrant a regular starting place at Everton.

I know ... you said lampard didn't tackle and he did alright. Like I have mentioned before lampard was bought for big money because of his performances for westham.. nobody is buying Barkley for big money based on these performances are they?
I didn't say he couldn't tackle I wasn't in on the conversation.
Was just putting you right.

Lampard left West Ham at 23 I think. Wasn't and England regular till he was about 24.
I'm pretty sure if we had put Ross up for sale this summer. There would have been plenty of takers

He wasn't superb at the start of the season last year... he just scored a few goals .. his alround play wasn't superb. It wasn't as bad as it is now tho obviously
This was Barkley v sterling & pogba. January time last season
Consider who they play for and with, the stats are impressive

So come on then - those who don't rate Ross at all - who would you rather have playing for us in his position?

Realistic signing currently an active player in world football.
