Never going to make it? He's made it mate. His quality is known. You cant unsee what the lad is capable of and wonder if he has the skill to light up a game when we all know through experience that he can and he has.

This is down to teasing out the performances on a regular basis with advice and by playing him in a position/system where he can excel.

Of course he has the skill. Does he have the hunger tho? I'm not sure any manager in the world has the answer to Ross' mental fragility.

Uneven game from him today. Wish he could direct his headers on goal. One of his glaring weaknesses at the moment.

I'd say give him a rest. A few weeks off maybe. But we didn't strengthen in the transfer window, so who plays is his place?

Maybe put kev in the hole and bring lennon or geri in?

Load of tosh talked about this lad. He's a confidence player not a basket case.

Guess what, that age old adage in football that some players respond to the arm around the shoulder rather than the kick up the arse: it's as true as ever.

He had arm round the shoulder for three years under RM and he's regressed since 2013.

Regressed since 2013...he's notched up 22 England caps since then and his best PL stats were posted last season - so I suppose that strongly suggest you're wrong.

He has not regressed AT ALL. His start to the season was fine. He had a bad half of football and then the manager decided to conduct a media war against him. Then some people wonder where the real downturn comes from.

Been crying out for a proper number 10 for years badly needs to be addressed, 2 years ago it was mentioned by Martinez and nothing materialized.

I disagree like. And even if you are serious in blaming Ronald. Then there's serious issues about Ross' character if he turns into a gutless coward at the slightest criticism from his manager. He should be busting a gut to prove Allardyce wrong at the minute. He's actually vindicating the hoofball merchant.

Christ yeah, we need more threat from the middle so that teams stop doubling/trebling up on our wingers.

To answer that patronising comment, I'd say that he is better in that position than any of the three players you have mentioned as possible replacements.
