Mate, he played as well as he'd played all season so far apart from the first half against Sunderland.

So what precisely did it achieve? Do we say: "yeah, well done Ross. That shot across the bow was needed to get you to the level you've played at for 4 and a half games out of 5 this season. See what you can do with the right coaching"?

Hooking a player of the profile of Ross at HT took bottle as it was always going to draw attention and questions post match.

As it was, it worked perfectly and we won the game off the back of the tactical change.

He then had to defend that decision to the press and did so honestly, giving his reasons for hooking him and what they'd done since.

Ross patently didn't react negatively to it, and so what part of any of that is wrong? I make it good, strong and honest management personally.

Davek, I still can't work out what would be the saddest reality in regards to your true intentions - that you truly believe in most of what you post OR that you would dedicate long hours on a daily basis for years just to create the longest running WUM account in internet history.

However, whichever it is you do have a point here. Koeman blabbing in the media is perfectly open to criticism, as many fans prefer things kept inhouse, and on top of that Ross played as well as he had done in other games this season....at best a little bit better...and it's nothing but assumption and journalistic filler material to propose that his performance was largely due to Koemans comments.

Oh come on mate, it didn't take 'bottle' at all. Who does koeman have to answer to for it? The media? What have they got right ever when it comes to us, or our players?

It was entirely justified at the time, and more so with the overall team performance.

It's all been blown out of proportion because Ross is a high profile player. RK did no more than I would expect him to do with any player who had as poor a 45 mins as Ross did on Monday. I'd be disappointed if he didn't show Kev a few clips of his first half performance too, but nobody's asked him the question.

There's also been an over reaction to Ross's "comeback" performance too. It was a solid 7/10, just like his form prior to the Sunderland game.

No, he did not. Not at all.
Question asked along those lines could easily have been batted away with ease by saying "it could have been any one of 4 or 5 to come off".

Job done. But that wasn't what he wanted.
