Ross Barkley

Impressed with his maturity. Koeman is an excellent man manager. All Ross's prior managers have either refused to criticise or criticised him an unfair amount and frozen him out.

Koeman has shown he expects better, he knows Ross can do better, but he's not binned him off. He's let him respond and Ross has done so.

Hopefully he can build on it.

Problem being is he will never be good enough for a percentage of the fanbase.
I am at a total loss of the expectation people put on his shoulders, and in the main it is simply down to him being born in Liverpool.
I believe we have a talent on our hands and we should be grateful he has come through the academy and knows what it is like to be a supporter.

Like I said fro some he will never be good, and is an easy scapegoat

He played what I'd call his standard game.
Always accepting the ball and waiting for the team mates run to pass to.
Couple of shots on target but, the better part was being a bit more selfish in trying the shots rather than the pass.
Maybe he was trying to prove a point but, it was funny seeing Rom moaning about Ross not passing to him, usually it should be Ross moaning about the lack of run to play into.

Definitely his best performance of the season. He looked for the ball like he always does, but in our half when under pressure he played the simple pass which kept the ball moving, much like Gana does. When he wasn't under pressure he turned and looked to carry the ball at pace. He also seemed to be more involved in the pressing and chasing back then he has been for a while. He has obviously been listening to the advice he was given. A few more performances like that and his confidence will come flooding back. Just hope, when it does, he keeps making the simple passes when under pressure.

This is why Ross's bad performances stand out so much.

Unlike a few other players we have, he still hunts the ball and tries to get into the game instead of hiding when it is not his day.

I thought he really stepped up today.

I hope Ronald makes him skipper again on Tuesday.

My motm today.

The pressure the lad was under and to play like he did could be the start of him becoming a real man and player for the team.

It could have easily gone the other way but credit to keoman great bit of man management too IMO.

Does my head in when people give him man of the match ... Even when he isn't. The papers do it and this adds to the hype... Gana was mom by a country mile...I know it's all opinions... And I love ross... But as a midfielder or no.10 ... How can you get mom with zero goals, assists, tackles? Gana won everything again today. He IMO had been mom in all our games apart from maybe lukaku on Monday. And I even think he was then, but the hat trick obviously give lukaku a shout.

For context, the BT commentators were talking about him as a contender for MOTM, and the Guardian writer wrote:

"Barkley has been excellent today, possibly the best player on the pitch." and "When Barkley plays like this, with such penetrative simplicity, you can see why so many managers get excited about him.".

Only 'ok' for some though unless he scores a worldy.

These are the same people that say sterling, Wilshire, Henderson, rashford and lallana should be winning the euros. I honestly think they write their reports from match of the day highlights.
