The transfer window was only ok. I think it jolted a lot of us into the reality that Everton is not as attractive a destination proposition (to ambitious footballers) as we like to think it is.
I'm not going to get into a Martinez debate here, but he certainly didn't elevate our status.
The new owner? Don't know. Too early too tell the quality of his intentions.

Maybe... Moshiri wants Everton to be talked about as a big club. The way to make that happen is through the media and primarily Sky Sports. Lets face it they've dismissed Everton for years. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours...
The way to go that then would be a sit down interview with pre vetted questions. He could set his stall out, placate us lot re his intentions and play the media game like the rest of them.

I remain to be convinced that it is actually Moshiri texting him but in the absence of a denial from the club I have to think there is something in this story.

Oh please Baby Jesus, don't let it be so...

Problem is, none of us know if it's really Moshiri, someone acting on behalf of Moshiri or some jokester in his bedroom sending the texts to J White

It would all be fine IF the club issued these statements in conjunction with what J White is saying then at least we could all know if it's true or not

can't argue with that. But if it irked us, it would have been known by now. We wouldn't exactly let it slide if we're not involved.

If he went up for sale tomorrow there'd be queue of top CL clubs looking to pay £50M for him.

How does an Evertonian run down one of the only truly talented players we have?

Barkley and Deulofeu are light years ahead of the rest of that squad in terms of the technique they have, but some seem prefer to throw praise at a headless chicken and a huff and puff midfielder who'll run and run all match.

It speaks volumes in terms of the basic outlook that people have and what they view as good football.

Inspiration over perspiration every time for me.

Technique is redundant if you lose the ball time and time and time again. He has not developed as he should but Koeman is the best man to move him forward. The biggest problem for Ross was an over indulgent, ill disciplined manager who has not helped him cut out basic errors from his game.

This says it all really.

Bolasie and Gueye? You don't rate them Dave? Are wingers and a combative midfielder not essential in your view of the footballing world?

Martinez is gone mate. You won't find a single GOTer who's sad about that.
But this thread is more about the unusual communication avenue being employed by Moshiri.
And it does appear rather odd to me...

@MoutsGoat come on mate, which other teams have improved their strongest xi in 4 positions?

Gimme a second Ian im just looking at other clubs transfer business over the Summer.

Oh wait, no im not, cos I dont care about other clubs.

Its impossible to have a proper discussion Ian, you keep moving the goalposts, I say our window wasnt great and you say "YEAH BUT LOOK OVER THERE".

Theres no desire for me to go over and over the mistakes we have made.

You asked me If I thought it was a good window and I stated the reasons why, using comparisons, also I gave a fair reason why we missed out on a top second striker and acknowledged that it was dissapointing not to get one.
