Bobbys pay off

Martinez appears to be one of those people that manages to fail upwards. He gets Wigan relegated and gets a job with us (who were at that time quite comfortably best of the rest). He drags us down to mid table mediocrity playing awful football whilst destroying the fitness of all our players, gets the sack, pockets a cool 10million and manages to land one of the most coveted international gigs in the game. I can only assume when he is sacked from the Belgium job he will become Barca's manager or Fifa President.

After the very pro-Bill briefing in the Sunday Mirror last week, do you think that some form of revenge has been exacted by someone at the club in this story in the Daily Mail?

I think in a heavily unionised environment like the LMA that would be sabotage of a kind that would be impossible to pull off.
Pretty sure it's been done before and is done in my industry regularly. As long as the persons job who has been out on gardening leave is not taken by someone else I.e coach instead of manager then the choice is up to the person on gardening leave. Either way we might have to pay them for the full length of their contract but over the length of their contract rather than one big lump 6 months after we sacked him. Best case we pay him for 6 months before he gets another job.

Does anyone have any evidence that this payout is real?

If they do I'd defo condemn it and Martinez for picking it up.

So can anyone provide that evidence?

Oh he'll manage to walk into another plum job by chatting absolute sewage in his interview and duping some idiot chairman who doesn't know anything about football. I can't stomach how he's pretty much done nothing but fail in his career and just keeps getting jobs by tricking people. That's the very definition of a fraud.

I wonder if this clause may have affected Martinez stubbornness - he wasn't prepared to change because he knew he'd get paid out either way - so why bother adapting. Hence his comments about not being bothered about winning or losing games. It's easy to be 'principled' in football terms when you're guaranteed a pay out.

Now I know why we were reluctant to sack him. Fancy giving him a massive new contract after one year though.

This is probably why we didn't spend much in the summer.

On another note if you get a job on a two or one year contract for example working for a manufacturing company. If they sack you, you don't get anything! Why then in football do you?

Pack it in dave
Pack what in? Asking for proof of a payout that no reputable source is carrying and with ZERO evidence?

As said: if the evidence is there let's see it and I'll be front and centre condemning it. Until then it's codswallop reported by two scandal sheets.

Why?

He was and is an embarrassment.

Referring to him as 'an embarrassment' is acceptable, however name calling is not.

I refer you to this:

Pleasde stop using that vile word about a former manager. You're not a young kid. I'd be ashamed to be honest.

Like I'm ashamed of the utter condescending drivel pumped out by you in your support for this clown. You openly insult anyone who dares speak against this individual who has screwed my club for £10 mil, you then have a go at board in less than flattering terms nover their transfer funds, you've sworn at many people on here, yet now display asine pomposity at my description of your hero........................I'll leave it to others to judge you but in respect to Esk I'll simply refer to him as EP for now.
