The only expectations I can think of would be 40 points. That looked in danger.
Wrong, he was sacked on 46 points, we ended with 49, after Norwich win, which left him proudly boasting that we'd matched our mighty total of the season prior in his sacking speech. I ask again why was he sacked if there were no expectation upon him?

But not legally.

I disagree that it's daft. Or that he was not morally entitled to the pay off. He had an agreement with the club that if either side terminated the agreement early, the other side would be compensated. Is that a stupid thing for the club to have done? Hell yes. But they did it. He is completely within his rights to hold them to the legally binding agreement they made two years ago.

And we are the only club involved in this direction. If a club came and poached him, we would have held out for the full amount guaranteed in that contract, no matter how badly he wanted to go. Just like he's held out for the full value of his contract, and we wanted him to go badly enough to let it happen.

Playing the 'moral' card just ends up benefiting organizations over individuals, since organizations are not expected to suffer from morals.
I wasn't arguing that he was within his legal rights to demand the contract fulfilment that we were stupid enough to put together.

Merely that in the context of his obvious failure and subsequent further employment, that he'd have agreed to the club's request for a negotiated settlement, but no, he's taken us for the full amount without a whiff of self respect.

Thought we were 36 points not 46, my apologies. I would say the decision was forced by Moshiri, who had to fit the bill to make it happen, no way BK was making that call.

I accept all that, but what's that got to do with your summation that he was unfairly sacked?
