Surely its Southall who (when he played) was classed as a foreigner.

Tim Cahill overall, but Kanchelskis was the best foreign player to don the shirt by an absolute mile for us.

I don't see hiw we can include Taffs, Jocks and Paddies as foreigners......even if they are in football terms.

The question has to be about people born outside these islands, surely.

And even at that, Aussies, Kiwis and Canucks don't really fit the bill.

Nor Yanks.

I think it should be restricted to non English speaking people.

Though we will make an exception for Kirkbyites

Tim Cahill.

He has made the most of his talent and still is to this day, but he started out with nothing, came over to this country and gave his all for Millwall, leading them to a cup final. Then moved here and had a mutual bond with the club that makes him as much an Evertonian, if not more so, than some of the players who grew up on the Gwladys Street and then represented us.

He is held in high regard at the clubs he has represented which is not always the case for the majority of high profile footballers.

I just wish he could have won something here, but that should not be a slight on his status in the same way as is was not for Bob Latchford.
