I'll judge him in 5 years when some of the young players I'm assuming he will sign will have come through

Living in the future here

Steve Walsh leaving Leicester didn't seem to affect them signing new players.

I have the uneasy feeling Leicester may have just pulled a fast one here bulling Walsh's status up when all he did was wash the kits. God damn Ranieri, those Italians are smart.

Peter Principle springs to mind. Is he a man promoted above his ability? Head scout at Leicester; DoF here?

In the 4 years he was at Leicester they appointed 2 Director's of football.

Notable they didn't promote Walsh on either occasion.

Hes clearly an excellent scout btw, but Director of football is generally a rather different role

Think the director of football at Leicester done a decent job.

We've come along and offered silly money and a promotion to a guy close to retiring. Couldn't blame him, but can he do the job?

Cue people saying he discovered Zola for Chelsea, a 29 year old Italian international.

My immediate thought when he was chosen was that Koeman would welcome it because there'd be no threat or contradiction to his wishes and Walsh would be easy to handle. I suspect he'd have hated having someone like Overmars in the role.

I have no idea if any of it is true, just speculating.
