Really feel sorry for the lad.
He did batter his wife, like.
In all seriousness though, it looks more a case of the guy is actually just very, very bad at football than he has the talent but is struggling with form.

Trust Everton to receive a billionaire takeover only for a striker who was banished from the squad and told to leave suddenly brought back into the fold as we couldn't even give him away or sign anybody better.
I think if you looked at a few of his vids you'd say he has potential, and his pace and shots are going to cause any team problems. So do you think we spent £13m based on a youtube vid without proper scouting or due diligence into his character?
Yep that sounds about right from Martinez and Kenwright.
How the hell do these people continue working in football.
In the real world they would be kicked out and be unemployable
These things have a strange way of ending up. We might find that Lukaku, Valencia and Kone are all injured and he has to play and does well! In that one start Martinez gave him he wasn't great, but no where near as bad as people make out.
There is more to this story than him just not being very good at football!

Martinez has won something.... I dont see what this has got to do with Kenwright at all.
I have said this loads now, bad transfers happen at every club and at every level. Sometimes things just dont work out for a player and his new club.
Why do we get so butthurt about it like we are the only club it has ever happened to and that we should be above it?
Its happened, big deal.
McAleny is turd mate just accept it
So it doesn't matter that we wasted £13m ?
Only in football would that attitude be tolerated.
So what if Martinez has won something.
Kenwright was the guy in overal charge at the time and had to sign off on the deal. Yes he can trust Martinez when it comes to whether a guy can play or not but he must ensure that there has been proper scouting and that checks have been carried into someones character.
Would you hire for a senior position without getting references and making enquiries of people that they have worked with?
Did BK ensure either were done ? probably not.
Just another possible example of our lack of competance at the top.

Also a lot easier to manage him within, or eventually out of the club if he has a squad number. Don't know anything about his attitude but he will now have to turn up, train (poor lad), stay fit, tow the line, basically all the the things expected of any employee. Not hard work like, but nobody is ever going to take a punt on him if he's just sitting at home all day watching telly ( or whatever it is non-football playing players do).Yes, they may as well give him a squad number as you never know what crisis might arrive re injuries.
