Interesting thoughts, thank you so much for your comments. Please hang around and come with more updates if you like.

It's not a type of deal you can cancel on wait for a higher bidder - everybody in Poland now knows that Mucha will leave for Everton, there's no question about it.

Even so, I won't be taking too much for granted. Spurs have been strongly linked with Mucha, and Everton fans still have sore memories of Spurs gazumping us over the Kyle Naughton transfer last summer.

I know shadow of Spurs waiting everywhere to hijack our deals will haunt some of us... but not in this case. We signed a player for a free, starting with July 1st (I think) and I even doubt if we can cancel this deal now (probably would have to pay compensation to player), player basically can't do nothing...

Interesting :).

There were two options for him: He could stay in Legia for rest of the season, help them fighting for Polish League title and preparing himself for World Cup (where he should be a starting keeper for Slovakia NT) or leave now for small (250k) fee. He choosed 1st way, probably because of having secure place in Legia, he really doesn't need competition against players like Howard right now.

2) Very solid goalkeeper, although as I always have my reservations about adjusting to Premier League. Comes from the same club as Boruc and Fabianski (there is a quality goalkeeping coach there, Mr Krzysztof Dowhan) and I rate him higher than Fabianski. But not as high as Boruc, if we would compare him to Boruc from 2-3 years ago.

Just out of interest, couldn't we have signed him for 250k and then loaned him back? That way, we'd have certainty about the whole thing, and the guy would still be getting games in before the World Cup.

Just a thought.

Thanks for your comments Zibi. I've watched the few youtube clips I could find but we all know it's hard to judge just from them. He seems to punch a fair bit on those crosses just from that evidence which is pretty common for keepers nowadays especially the shorter ones!

Folk on here know I have more than a passing interest in keepers being one myself so I hope it works out, we need a top quality keeper to keep Tim Howard on his toes.

Your English is great by the way so hope you stick around and enjoy the forum, we have a world football forum and could do with some Eastern European input whether for Euro games, good prospects coming through, transfer rumours or just general banter! (y)

Probably you could, but you also have certainty now, even is some of you for whatever reason is so skeptical.

A good reason for not doing permanant signings now is not just that we have no money but leaving it to the summer is benficial to the club for tax purposes.

How old is Tim Howard? Is Moyes starting to think of replacing him?

First of all I'm sorry for my English.

Your English is good. Thanks for the information. (y)

Howard is 30 so he still has lots of years left in goal. It sounds like Mucha would give him some a bit of competition for the starting position and the team great cover for the position. I don't see Howard losing his 1st team spot though.

With some of the quotes Moyes has put out about Howard I see it unlikely that he is looking for a replacement. Perhaps, he will give Howard cup games off or something of that nature.

Fully agree with that. Howard has at least 5-6 years left in him. with a bit of luck maybe even 6-8 years. Don't think Mucha will ever take the 1st team spot away from Howard. As I said many times before, I honestly believe Tim Howard is the best quality goalkeeper we could wish for at Everton.(y)
