Ross Barkley

This. I had one in front of me at the Spurs game - every time Barkley touched the ball he was effing and blinding and roaring at Ross. And that wasn't the first time either. I really do wish they would get off his back and let him play.

Couldn't agree more. I had a couple of dimwits by me in the Park End on Saturday who did the same. I'm not talking about the odd groan of frustration either.....they were properly giving him down the banks.

Everton fans are our own worst enemies at times.

I don't honestly know what Barkley has done to have an England team built around him tbh.

Scholes was light years ahead.
I doubt Barkley will ever reach scholes's level.
But he didn't get in the England squad until he was 22/23. And did nothing for England in 4/5 major tournaments.

Again, neither has that entire squad. The only one you can do it with is Rooney, which would cause an uproar...and we've never done it anyway

As for Scholes he was pushed to one side for the blood and guts Lampard and Gerrard. The same principle applies now with your Ali's and Lallanas who hide behind better players.

And how Lallana gets a call over him is still a mystery.
maybe it's his soft skin, Maybe it's maybelline ....sure as eck not his footballing skillz. Even the redscum call him "nearly lallana"

This could impact on us with barkley, he might have two move to one of the media darlings team to be recalled. Sam has basically snubbed him.

He needs to become the consistent star for us before anything else. Besides I would much sooner captain Everton than win 1 single cap for that circus of mediocrity called England.

He will develop into a top class player under Koeman and be a regular again at international level soon enough.

The honest truth.......If we continue to sign midfielders, and Barkley doesn't get himself fit enough to play a full game , he may find himself struggling to get a starting place at Everton. He is one top midfielder signing away from being a bench warmer. The occasional flash of great play will not be enough from Koeman, who definitely has a ruthless streak.

But I'll say again, apart from the defence, that whole england side is inconsistent so I don't buy that.

But he should be the main man for us. An Koeman knows this

I don't think he will, to be honest. Just doesn't seem to fit in for England at all. Nothing to do with his talent, just the nature of his game.
I'd be surprised if he was never called up at all, but with Rooney and Alli ahead of him I agree that he's probably not going to Russia.

Oh without question. Some of those England players are bang average.
Henderson and Kane look so out of form and yet get picked. Henderson is rubbish when on form too tbf.

The man in charge is like a sunday pub team manager anyway.

I am sure RK will have a good talk with Ross.

To be honest I saw this coming as soon as the fat git (Sam not Ross) was given the England job. He favours a certain type of player and I'm afraid it ain't the flair type. To get into one of Sam's squads, Ross is going to have to be playing out of his skin, which I suppose is good for us in the long term. Plus he won't be exposed to Sam's safety first style of management, which is also a good thing. Sadly, not sure Ross will see it that way though.

Just a quick word on Sam and England. There's probably only about 3 people in football who I genuinely really dislike, hate even. Big Sam is one of them. I hate the bag of spuds on his shoulder; his "always the victim" mentality; his obvious envy of anyone with more toys to play with. I don't like his management style either. Great if you're fighting relegation all the time, but there's a reason why fans of Newcastle and WHU didn't take to him. I've always been a supporter of England, but now I'll be happy to see them lose if it means an early demise for Sam.
