This was my first thought too. The reports of City being willing to pay £90k of Hart's reported £120k per week wage only came out AFTER Koeman stated to the press that he had "no interest" in the player.

The original proposition was reported as Hart available on loan to any team who would pay his entire weekly wage and a loan fee: we were right to say "no thanks" on that basis. If we subsequently get him for about £30k a week and a reduced loan fee I would be very pleased, along with anyone who isn't obsessed with "net spend".
If that's the case then most clubs in the prem will want him.

It wasn’t all bad news for Hart though. Sponsors Head & Shoulders confirmed they would not be dropping him. Hart has starred in a number of adverts promoting the shampoo brand over the last three years.

A spokesman told Sportsmail: ‘We are proud to have Joe Hart as our Head & Shoulders ambassador. ‘He’s an important part of the brand and we value our relationship with him.’

Thank god for that.

We can't be thinking that Steklenburg is our No. 1.

He was No. 2 at Southampton, so why is he good enough to be a starter for us?

A keeper in this window is a must.

While I agree with the sentiment about needing a new keeper, people have to stop with the 'not good enough' shouts.

We finished 11th two years running...

Yeah, I know what you're saying but we aren't striving to maintain 11th, are we?

He is a No.2 at best.

Hart is better in every area, and if we're serious about entering a new era then we should be doing everything we can to get him.

Yep I agree but, maybe Koeman doesn't like something he's seen.

It's just a guess obviously, but at the end of the day it's the manager who makes the decisions about bringing players in, not the fans.

We may well still get/go for Hart, and I'd be happy if we did. But at the end of the day it's up to the manager to decide.
