If we signed Begovic and not Hart, I would be very puzzled. Hart is the much better of the two and would suggest we went for the cheaper option.
Hart to the RS on loan is viable I think, but he and City have few options so I'm still assuming that RK's comments are just bluff and that we are still in the game.

This is a no brainer for me. We have moaned about getting a top goalkeeper since Martyn retired. England's no.1 is available and city are prepared to contribute to his wages, I can't believe we wouldn't be interested.

The rumour mill said we weren't happy with a fee plus paying all the wages. Koeman then says no interest in a press-conference. Then rumours start City are willing to contribute.

Looks like we're playing hardball a bit better.
This was my first thought too. The reports of City being willing to pay £90k of Hart's reported £120k per week wage only came out AFTER Koeman stated to the press that he had "no interest" in the player.

The original proposition was reported as Hart available on loan to any team who would pay his entire weekly wage and a loan fee: we were right to say "no thanks" on that basis. If we subsequently get him for about £30k a week and a reduced loan fee I would be very pleased, along with anyone who isn't obsessed with "net spend".
